  10. archishman pradhan Obesity is definitely a "Disease" in that the CDC has marked it as a leading cause for sky-rocketing health care risks per-resident of the united states.  Granted, the main problem is USA health care in general being way overpriced ... but Obesity-related complications = THE NUMBER ONE CAUSE OF DEATH in the USA.

  11. archishman pradhan okay so their technical wording for it is "Epidemic":  http://www.cdc.gov/chronicdisease/resources/publications/AAG/obesity.htm   ...but this goes BEYOND just something that the insurance "free market" can sort out because 2/3'rds of our country's budget already goes to subsidizing them through medicare/medicaid so it's a safe bet their own cost estimates are WAY on the low-end b/c they're the government and underestimating the Debt and veteran wait-times is how they keep their jobs
