That's why I couldn't side with GG.   But I'm also very strongly Pro-Speech, which means I'm Anti-Political Correctness.  And when I looked into the current rhetoric that is popular with feminists or your own logic for example, I found many glaring examples of censorship, overreaching humanism, far left socialism, communism, misandry, and cultural policing.  If you deny this, then you should really question your own understanding of what "extreme" means and where the rest of the country thinks the "middle left" resides. Your dictionary definition does not in any way adhere to the extreme scenarios of enforcing and enacting "social change" the way current extreme feminism is advocating.  You are doing it by shaming and harrassing those who disagree with you and moving the goal posts on what WORDS MEAN.  That is the text book definition of what political extremism means.  A middle-road political movement only seeks to build up constructively, not to constantly attack that which it wants to change.  This also applies to GG.  They need to do a better job themselves of focusing only on constructive efforts in gaming. Now go ahead and resort to Ad Hominem attack... I'm waiting.  I want to be able to tell people I was sexually harrassed over the internet for not being enough of a pro-feminist

And what did the investigations show of capacity to carry it out?  How credible was the threat ?  If you're going to claim something as serious as attempted rape, then you must show hard evidence that it was actionable

Rantandreason I don't support GamerGate at all for the exact reasons that Pakman brought up and Sargon admitted to: It started with that Zoe- nobody who can't even do real programming, and that other guy in drag. All I see is a bunch of people on both sides pretending to be something they're not and I cheer every time any one of them is exposed as a fraud. Especially those PC police who were never real gamers / devs. I want to know where the hell these people were back in the early 2000's when gaming & especially its studios really started pandering while getting infiltrated by MBA doofuses, payola, and collusion? Yeah the PC police earn their hatred & need to go worry about other causes instead (like Disparity). But they're only being rebuked so strongly because they were always outsiders to gaming. I started on that same Atari as Sargon at the same age, & so many "youtube gamers" I know haven't been doing jack when it comes to the MASSIVE RAMPANT inbred cronyism & grubby shit-tier metrics marketing that's been growing from within the Gaming industry itself. (not to mention designer Hubris & awful cust. service) So I'd be way outside that Overlapping diagram and proof that David over generalizes gamers because he's pretending to be something he's not. He might know this Drama inside and out, but he doesn't know enough gamers or the industry and he's clearly pushing a narrative too.

I don't think people who've never been on the unending concentrated tip of 4Chan-culture's spear and its own special brand of censorship really understand how much the internet-culture loves having a common enemy to hate and make LULZ of. And SJW's were just begging for it even harder than Bronies were. I think it would have divided gaming against itself nomatter how the Press reacted.  gaming threads about female gamers have ALWAYS been completely sensationalized and a hot topic since way before this happened. Mostly because PC gaming is just full of introverted Beta Whiteknights trying to figure out why there ain't enough girls in it for all of them to have a RL gaming waifu which they'd happily blame on dude-bro gamers.
