  1. As Elgin bought them from the Ottamans who ran Greece. In fact Britain (with France & Russia) supported Greece to gain independence from the Ottamans in 1830! Look at all the lovely ancient buildings they have, that GREECE HAS LEFT TO RACK & RUIN. They were not interested in preserving any artefacts just want them as BRITAIN HAS SAVED THEM. ALL can visit the British Museum FREE of CHARGE! 🖕
