  2. Great Camps in the Adirondacks were built by the robber barons, oligarchs of their day. They brought their servants with them.

  4. I remember Robert Garrow, the mass murderer. Many more bodies were found. The manhunt across the Adirondackd lasted for too long and many residents slept with loaded shotguns.

  6. Lake Placid also had the 1932 Olympics. Mines across the Adirondack Park closed in the 1970s, Tahawus, Graphite and North River included.
