If japan has turn ed to linux in the early 90s then they might have have a good foothold today. Linux is now the great equalizer. Microsoft is going to the dogs. Never go back to microsoft.

@belstar1128 That might be so but at least they had something they could have worked on and used. If the japenese had contributed back then then linux might have had spread faster. Linux depends on contributors. Window was not perfect either. I cam from the days of dos and windows 3.1. I know what I am talking about.

@belstar1128 so was msdos. if the japanese had given their support then linux would have developed faster. I know japanese. I used to study martial arts. Japanese have a hard working work ethic. They could have looked at the linux and even come up with their own variant. They could have also used the freebsd which allows propriety license.
