@Lumpia_In_Texas It's almost like we've destabilized their governments for over a century by deposing their democratically elected leaders and creating an unwinnable drug war. Bet you everything you own you can't define communism and properly apply it. Capitalism couldn't give you an education, could it?

I don't understand how people can't afford cars. I make $8-14k/year in California and I've never had to go without a car. I have 5 in fact. They are all bad cars to be fair. One of them runs. You'd have to be outright homeless to not be able to pay for the cost and even then you'd probably live in your car.

@orangeusername1792 I live in California where everything is far apart and expensive and I'm currently unemployed. I can still quite easily afford my car insurance and gas on my 1988 Jeep Wagoneer that gets 8-12 mpg when I make only $800/month from unemployment. I just don't see how people can't afford cars. Must be an unwillingness to learn how to fix them, which is necessary a lot when you have cheap cars.

So jam us all into tightly packed coffin box cities like Japan? No thanks.
4
@crunchysocialisthippie So a tiny percentage of people can't operate cars so we shouldn't have them because that would be selfish? What kind of drugs are you on that could twist your world view so much that you being insanely selfish and denying transportation to anyone who can afford or operate a car because some can't could somehow be viewed as being unselfish? Wow. It's like you're trying to set the record for hypocrisy.
4
@squidgrill That would mean stacking everyone on top of each other so that everyone could live near enough to walk to their work or shopping needs, which is worse than needing to own a car to get places. I like wide open spaces and don't want neighbors in all 3 dimensions. If you want to live like ants go to Europe of Japan.

@Lumpia_In_Texas Also, capitalism has literally nothing to do with the Constitution or any of the amendments so what you're saying isn't relevant. You just say noises you heard adults make. Wow.
2
@kirbyarroyo2118 Neither would making cars something only the rich can afford, eliminating the ability to even travel.

@Lumpia_In_Texas Define communism and show how it applies to anything I've said. We'll all laugh like hell while you either can't or won't. You're so uneducated that you don't even know how dumb you sound. Stop using adult words you don't know, kiddo. You're embarrassing yourself even more. What is communism, kiddo? You don't know. Just a scary noise you hear on Fox. Sad. Baby.

TLDW; It's in Texas.

@orangeusername1792 For example, there is a FREE 2016 Jetta on craigslist in my area right now. Sure, it is crashed and not running, but just selling the parts from this free car would alone be enough to buy a running one, assuming you could get a buddy to help you tow the broken car home, strip it, then sell the chassis to pick n pull for $100.
1
@artisticagi I rent a room for $400/month and the house has a big back yard I can park my broken cars in. I guess I'm lucky??? Yes, you can't pay someone to fix your cars as it's very expensive but anyone can learn to fix their car with youtube nowadays, often the exact car they are working on with the exact problem has a video on how to fix it. Then it's just a question of parts and tools, which are also not cheap but there's always the junk yard and harbor freight.

@NotSoIrish ...to a real small number. Pan handle harder.
1
@NotSoIrish Insurance $60/month, gas $60/month, repairs ~$1000 per year, paring is free. About $130 per month to be able to drive anywhere instead of packing everyone in together like sardines. I think I'll pay the tiny fee to not live in Hell.
1
@NotSoIrish It adds up to $4.33/ day BTW. Less than bus fare which costs $7/day. It's cheaper to own and operate a car than take the public transportation a lot of times and the bus makes you wait for hours in the rain and doesn't go exactly where you want it. But surely it would be cheaper to rebuild all our cities ROFL.

@Jeremiah Madsen Whatever delusion suits you.
1
@Jeremiah Madsen Also, people with cars are going extinct? Yeah, I know you're being transformed into peasants for the ruling class and somehow think it's a good thing.

No one wants to live in your stacked apartment hellscape and I'll make sure to swerve for cyclists.
