Weird since he's in Florida crashing weddings instead of wiping burger grease on the White House curtains.

That would be cruel. You can't put developmentally disabled people in gen pop.

That's generous.

Isn't it sad that this is what has become of the hippie generation?

@mementomori7825 Same thing. Religion destroys the ability to critically think.

@heressomestuffifound Yeah, a lot of the gen Xers too.

You do understand that that's entirely unfeasible since we'd have to vote all the time on hundreds of bills and no one would do that, right? People barely even vote for representatives and most don't even care at all about politics let alone have enough knowledge to make any type of informed decision on laws. A direct democracy works up to about village size. Not a country.

@curtbressler3127 Again, what you are proposing cannot work in any setting larger than a small village. Why keep talking about it?

@curtbressler3127 Your solution literally cannot work though so it isn't. How don't you get that? You might as well suggest collecting stamps as a solution. Pointing out that your idea isn't a solution at all isn't me saying I'm content with the current situation. You're just wasting time with dumb shit though. HOW could direct democracy work when no one would participate as very few people want to familiarize themselves with politics enough to make informed decisions, which is why we elect people to do it for us. It's a full time job legislating and we have to put food on the table. Try to think this through for one second ffs. We can't have a direct democracy for the same reason you cannot personally manufacture everything you need for life in a modern society. It is a division of labor. It's like if most cars sucked so you banned factories and everyone has to make their own car from scratch. Do you see any major country with direct democracy? No, right? Try to think about why that is and stop wasting people's time with non-solutions.

@curtbressler3127 You're missing that the vast majority of people wouldn't want to participate. Most people don't care about politics at all and wouldn't vote and those that did wouldn't be informed enough to do so on the hundreds or thousands of votes necessary per year. It has been tried and doesn't work which is why no countries use this system. Look up some history kiddo instead of just repeating it's failure.
