  1. We need to be building giant underground cisterns like the Romans did. You could even use abandoned mines, of which there are many near San Diego. Just line them with (impervious) concrete and you have a near ready-made water storage solution. We should also be building injection wells that take storm runoff and pump them into the aquifers during the winter to help them recharge. Like frakking, but with only water and no chemicals.

  3. So you think that the concrete is protecting Florida's existence and it would have washed away by now if it weren't for the human effort? Because that is what you are implying. The damage didn't happen before there was concrete there so why would having pervious concrete make it happen?
