How sad that such cults still exist to take advantage of the vulnerable. There are no sky wizards people. Stop dancing around the fire like fools and live the one life you get.

@5kydragon347 It's a really boring read most of the time but there are some fun parts. One time god has bears tear apart 42 children for making fun of his bald prophet. Hilariously unjust lol. Read it. All of it, not just the Sunday school parts. The skeptics annotated bible helps with translation.

@janeashby7119 Yes, you have been scammed into thinking magic is real and a sky poppa will save you from death if you're a good little girl and I'm trying to get you to realise that is about the silliest and most dangerous thing you could believe. Don't you try to help people you know are being scammed? Or do you let them throw away their lives?

@co6742 Not nearly as dumb as believing in a sky daddy as an adult. There is no such thing as magic, kiddo and you're gonna die and be worm food and that's all there is, same as it was for you in the year 1232. There's nothing you can do about it. Feel free at any point to amuse me and try to defend the existence of magical sky people who, unironically, speak things into existence.

@5kydragon347 Why would believing in a myth with no evidence be better than not? How could it be when it's not a choice between if YOUR god is real or not but if there is a real god among the thousands of God myths claimed to be true? If you believe in any unproven myth, you are almost guaranteed it is wrong, just like all the thousands of others claimed for millenia. What makes your myth that you were born into different?
1
@5kydragon347 Your idea is the classic logical fallacy known as Pascal' s wager. Look it up so you stop using arguments refuted hundreds of years ago.
1
@5kydragon347 Still no reasoning to support your opinion?

@5kydragon347 The bible getting certain details correct about the natural world is simply cherry picking amongst the hundreds of those that are false and also in no way prove magic or gods just like any of the examples from any other religion. Also, just off the top of my head, Jesus himself railed against hand or footwashing before eating. While you claim you can provide evidence of a resurrection you cannot, a YouTube video isn't proof of magic. If this is what your belief is based upon I can't imagine how you could have been convinced. It's downright laughable. Nothing you listed distinguished your god from any other god claim.

@5kydragon347 Understanding that blood is vital to life is something you learn when you kill an animal. It's not impressive knowledge at all and blood letting has been a common practice in many cultures since before your religion decided there actually only was a single god and not many as before. Judaism is based on earlier polythesitic beliefs where YHWH, your god, was the volcano god. We know who made up your religion and have history from before it existed and from when it was entirely different. Seems totally real.

@5kydragon347 Jesus washed people's feet but he never washed his hands before eating because "a man is cursed by what comes out of his mouth and not what goes in" when asked by the Pharisees why him and his followers never washed before eating. I thought this was YOUR religion? You should know this, but the surest mark of a believer is one who hasn't read the book. No one rational could read it and believe considering the literally thousands of contradictions and outright monstrous acts by YHWH.
1
@5kydragon347 The bible says bats are birds. That's completely wrong. By your logic the bible is wrong and your god isn't real because no one except for desert goat herder from thousands of years ago are that stupid. Just look it up if you haven't done your reading. You see, I used to believe but I care if my beliefs are true. Do you? Read the book, using skeptics annotated bible helps with translation. Google it.

@5kydragon347 Isaiah 40-22 says the earth is a circle, not a sphere. These are not the same shape. This is literally one of the passages pointed to by flat earthers.
1
@5kydragon347 Back to the flat earth, are you not aware that that was the official position of the church and they burned people for saying it was a sphere? Also, the ancient Greeks knew the earth was a sphere 5000 years ago. Maybe try reading some websites that are skeptical of the bible and go through the constant errors or you could look up the atheist bible scholar Aron Ra. He's also an ex believer that found his way out of that prison of the mind you've put yourself in.
1
@5kydragon347 Furthermore, blood letting is actually medically good in some cases and is often used. Have you not heard of medical leaches??? You've got to read the bible AND some science and history books too.
1
@tuyenerotuyenero2202 I'm just trying to help you out of your mind prison that some grifter put you in. It is pretty funny you think magic is real and that there's a sky daddy that saves you from death though.
1
@5kydragon347 Washing hands is mentioned and he scorns it as unnecessary, dooming millions to death by following a foolish myth.
1
@maebhinnes2843 You would have to show that Jesus exists before such a claim becomes relevant, otherwise you'd better start hanging garlic around your doorways to ward off vampires too.
1
@5kydragon347 ...because you claim a magic zombie existed and that there's a sky daddy who saves you from death, insane absurdities. Then you say I'm a fool for wanting evidence for absurd magical claims. The irony.
1
@christianaweber6349 I'm trying to help you out of the scam you've been tricked into because it is harmful to yourself and all those around you. You're openly saying you believe in magic as an adult in 2021. Look at yourself. Grow up and put aside childish beliefs that have nothing to back them up. When you can believe in something based on faith alone you can be convinced to do anything, no matter how good you think you are because you no longer need evidence for your beliefs, only words. Words lie, evidence does not. There is no evidence for any magical claim in any holy book ever, let alone the absurdities in the bible. Let's start with the hundreds of zombies that rose up with Jesus. Where are they and why did no one outside the bible or even in the other three telling of JC's resurrection notice them? Because it's claptrap made up by goat herders thousands of years ago. Same as the crap made up by Joseph Smith and Mohammad before him.
1
@christianaweber6349 Imagine you found yourself to be in a pyramid scheme. You figured out that you've been lied to and you want to help out others still being scammed.
1
@g.weg.3723 I'm not aware of any good arguments for the existence of a god but the most widely used is the argument from ignorance, which is a logical fallacy. That's why it's wrong.
1
@idedimi Faith is not a respect for the mysteries of infinity or divinity but the belief in anything when you don't have a logical reason to believe in it. If you have a logical reason to believe in something then you don't need faith. Faith is never a healthy part of anyone's life as it's never a good idea to believe in things you have no reason to believe in, literally by definition.
1
@g.weg.3723 Further, no mere argument can ever prove the existence of something, you need evidence for that thing, especially something as extraordinary as a god. Words are useless.
1
@jilbageorgalis7788 If it was a fact you could show it to be true. There are NO accounts outside to bible of Jesus being magic or resurrecting, period. Your religion, like all others, has no evidence for any supernatural claim because magic isn't real, kiddo. Sorry. Grow up.
1
@jilbageorgalis7788 One cannot have a relationship with something that doesn't exist BTW; you're talking to voices in your head. Get help.
1
@idedimi I didn't want to be rude since you seem like a nice guy but it just seems you misunderstand faith. You don't seem to believe in something based on nothing but just get mind blown when contemplating concepts like infinity. I don't see a connection. I don't even see how you consider yourself Catholic based on what you've said you believe in. You sound more like a deist, which is just the last step to atheism when you take that final leap and understand there is magic in nothing, even love. It's just chemical reactions and evolution.

@janeashby7119 How is your religion different than Santa though? You made no distinction as to why that is silly and a sky poppa isn't. That's because someone told you it wasn't real, just like right now. Also, claiming people who do violence in the name of religion aren't following their religion is not only the "no true Scotsman" fallacy but highly ignorant and extremely disrespectful to those who think they are dying for their god. 9/11 or the Crusades ring a bell? Do you think that people DON'T make important, real life decisions that effect everyone around them based on these scams? How could you NOT see how not needing evidence to believe something could lead good people to do evil in the name of that lie? Also, how could actions and not words show people their religion is a scam? That doesn't even make sense.
