  2. You're not really thinking ahead. States rights are how we got almost all our rights. States fight for them, like gay marriage or abortion, they are adopted state by state, then it is made legal federally. If you didn't have states rights you would be at the mercy of whatever the federal government wanted to do at that time, which changes every 4 years. Whatever side you're on, you don't want that. Well, I guess unless you're a fascist and want the federal government to hold total power, but that's a real bad look. Jackboots are so 1943.
