@theultimatereductionist7592 It's not flying anymore and SpaceX is the only ticket to space. Who do you think takes people to the ISS now that the way more expensive and deadly shuttle has retired? So many dead astronauts from that death trap.

You don't have to guess. SpaceX said that if it even cleared the pad it would be a success. They succeeded in their goal so that is why they were happy.

@herrschaftg35 If simply upscaling a rocket, which this isn't at all an example of, wasn't an achievement I wonder why no one has been able to do it? You're not even making sense. How would building the largest functional rocket ever NOT be an achievement? You're just mad about problems in your own life.

No, many smaller engines is better than a few larger engines because you cannot afford to lose any if you go with the latter strategy. Nothing about having many engines effected the flight negatively.
