  3. kr00m Yes, but now that the decision has been made, public opinion is irrelevant. Nothing can overturn a Supreme Court decision except for a Constitutional Amendment.

  4. magottyk It doesn't matter if they don't like it, they do not have the power to do anything legal against the decision, just as the anti-integrationists were powerless to stop integration. Moral authority is irrelevant as laws aren't morals. Their protests amounted to nothing at all just as these will. Civil unrest will result only in their own arrests or maybe they'll have to bring in the National Guard like last time. Either way, they are on the wrong side of history and the law. There is no chance whatsoever of them getting an amendment through, which is their only option now.
