  1. Magum Op If the woman is incapable of doing her government job, it's not the government imposing her beliefs. Her right to believe ends when it imposes on the rights of others and her religious beliefs can have no bearing on governmental decisions or actions she implements. She is violating the 14th amendment by taking away the rights of others to practice her religious beliefs, which is a violation of the law, similar to religions which practice human sacrifice. It may be their belief that they have to kill a child to bring the corn harvest or it may be a muslim's belief that women cannot have driver's licenses, but that doesn't mean that child sacrifice is allowable nor that a muslim working in the DMV could refuse driver's licenses to women.

  2. +Trailblazer Liberals are largely against all religion in politics, we just don't want anyone to descriminate based on religion. Keeping christianity out of politics isn't descrimination BTW.

Magum Op If it is the person's job for the government is to do something that violates their beliefs, but those beliefs violate the rights of others, ie. they deny someone a marriage license based upon their beliefs, they have violated the 14th Amendment by not providing equal treatment under the law and the first amendment by imposing their religious ideas on others through governmental power. Your rights end where they infringe upon the boundaries of others. This is the very reason it's illegal to make a law against agnostics or atheists getting married or interacial couples. The courts have spoken; you lost. Homosexual couples now have the same rights as heterosexual couples. The government absolutely can compel a person to not follow their religious beliefs if their religious beliefs are harmful to others, just as with child sacrifice or stoning non-believers or trying to close all fish markets.
