Kevin Jewell Actually I peed outside as there was no indoor plumbing, our sinks were supplied by spring water that we collected in a 1500 gallon tank so we couldn't afford to use water for flush toilets. Why do you think personally insulting me helps to prove your point? Does my growing up poor and in the woods make tesla's invention more genius somehow?

  2. weallnonothing Well, I could see the batteries helping in one way. During peak hours, when most electricity is used, you could partially rely upon the batteries and lessen the drain on the grid, lessening the need for more power plants. You could then recharge the battery overnight when demand is much lower. This would be more efficient for power plants because they are most efficient when they are run at a steady state in their optimal rpm, ie, not changing the amount of power they make. If you could smooth out the power demand into a near constant level with batteries, you could get some fuel savings right there. This does come at the environmental cost of manufacturing huge amounts of batteries, but new, cheaper, faster charging aluminum based batteries will be arriving soon. Now that'll be a game changer.

  3. Kevin Jewell How? I had a 12v lighting system in my house 20 years ago. It was powered by several bulldozer lead acid batteries and was charged by a generator. Turned the genny on for TV and charging the batteries. Had a 12v refrigerator from an RV too.

I have had a battery system before and wanted to know what made it so different, and he's so low information all he could do was insult me. Sad really. I grew up in the woods eating rattlesnake and shitting on the ground and I still have a firmer grasp of logic than him.
