jasun calimag Why would them being islands make renewable energy harder to impliment? If anything, they have the advantage of being able to use geothermal and tidal energy, as well as solar and wind. It's volcano ffs. It's got loads of energy and it's about as tame as volcanoes come.

InternetReviewerGuy Why ban internal combustion? If you use biofuels (grain alcohol for one) they are carbon neutral. You can burn biodiesel, hydrogen, methane, all produced through renewable means. The ICE is great, you just need to use a carbon neutral fuel.

InternetReviewerGuy I'm talking about biofuels generated by genetically modified bacteria. Here's one that produces renewable propane http://www.iflscience.com/environment/scientists-engineer-bacteria-produce-renewable-biofuel, here's one that produces an octane precursor, butanol, and ethanol http://cleantechnica.com/2013/07/03/bacteria-biofuel-gets-a-boost-from-harvard-researchers/
