  1. They'd make fun of the child either way, but not everyone will know just by looking at her that she has two moms. Her being mixed race is readily apparent and will certainly give more ammo to the bullies. Also, the kid is not necessarily gay, but she is mixed race, which means that she may be discriminated by her extended family as a matter of course where they would not have otherwise disliked her. They probably would have loved for their lesbian daughters to have a white baby with blonde hair and blue eyes, at least they'd have a grand kid, this just makes it worse in their racist view.

  2. SLRok The point is that not only will she have two moms, but now the child also has to deal with racism, from her own family included. The reason this occurred is because the sperm bank was negligent. They are very clearly at fault here.

  4. OXGNy0 We have freedom of speech in the US so we cannot call the police in that situation, it is not illegal. You yourself would almost certainly be arrested or at least pistol whipped for wasting police time.

  5. OXGNy0 The problem with that is that those in power can abuse such a law to throw in jail anyone who disagrees with them. Freedom of speech is not just fine and dandy, it is the most important freedom we have. The only speech that is limited in America is direct calls for violence or ones which will cause injury, such as calls for armed rebellion or yelling "fire" in a theater. We've lost the 4th amendment, they're working on the 1st. Even though I despise that word and would never use it against or around a black person, I still would defend the right to use it, to the DEATH as my forefathers have. If you don't support the free speech of those that you disagree with the most, you don't support free speech.
