  1. Absolutely, he comes from the same region as Estonian and Finnish politicians and it shows: he has the same ability to answer briefly and to the point. Each question gets a clear answer packed with information. This is what politicians should be like in interviews 🙂

  2. He was born in the U.S., to Latvian refugees from the USSR terror. Quite a common thing among Baltic politicians. A lot of their presidents and ministers have been born to exiled parents, or had been refugees themselves, in Canada, US and other countries.

  4. Yeah, he was a great choice. I understand now why he´s considered as one of the candidates for secretary general of NATO. Never heard a politician speak so clearly and succinctly, except some Estonian and Finnish ones. And perhaps Jacinda Ardern. He should teach politicians how to give interviews.

  5. Yeah, the Lithuanian FM Gabrielius Landsbergis also is very likeable and speaks good English and gives good clear answers. Not as brief and succinct as Latvian and Estonian politicians, though, Lithuanians have less of this "Nordic speaking efficiency" 🙂
