  1. The scientists weren´t accused because of the failure of the missiles, they were accused earlier in connection with data leaks to China. At least that´s what my sources (friends who collect info from OSINT sources and have it fact-checked) say. The accusations might of course have been false. But they happened before the missiles failed.

  2. It usually takes years. The EU basically promised to start the process once the war is over. That´s not like accepting them next year.

Good idea, but it would be a massive organizational problem given that it shares the alphabet with other countries who are also members of the Orthodox church, like North Macedonia, Serbia and Bulgaria. And all Ukrainian literature has been written in that alphabet for more than a millennium. Btw Bulgaria is in EU and uses the Cyrillic alphabet. IMHO Ukrainians would feel this is closer to bootlicking than fighting for their identity.
