@hazelwray4184 It started when Russia didn't change its history textbooks in the 1990's. They still said the Baltic states joined USSR voluntarily. Which is rubbish, they were conquered and forced, and there's photographic evidence and everything. As soon as it became clear they wouldn't change the textbooks, we realized they wouldn't change their ways and we need to join NATO.

@ChuckAmadi Unlike Brits, the Germans were hated beyond description and basically considered human trash in Europe after 1945. That's why their relationship with war now is like a recovering alcoholic's relationship with alcohol. They're very reluctant to touch it, because they're afraid they might relapse, or the world might start seeing them the same way as in 1945. It just isn't part of their culture anymore. They produce murder mysteries, support Fair Trade and send technology to impoverished African countries. Japan, once a terrifying empire, switched to cute anime, stuffed toys and figure skaters. I'm Czech and my family suffered quite a lot in WW2, but in spite of that (or perhaps that's exactly why) I quite understand their position now and don't blame them.
