  2. Especially because Soviet-built dams are very sturdy, they were built during the Cold War with American attacks in mind. I come from a post-Communist country and there was a lot of ineptitude here back then, but not when it came to technical constructions. Those were taken very seriously.

When it means no electricity supply to parts of Ukraine, potentially thousands of drowned Ukrainians and a blow to Ukrainian economy even if Russia lost, given the hundreds and hundreds of square kilometres of fields that will be contaminated with gasoline and landmines?
