  1. They haven´t failed, and there have been several near-miracles. First and foremost, the Ukrainians were so tough and the Russian logistics so bad that Wagner gave up and now they´re out of the picture. And they were the bravest and cruelest fighters on the frontline. Second, Ukrainians have managed to destroy several helicopters and airplanes with minimal losses to themselves. Third, Ukrainians have managed to destroy some key Russian supply lines. Experts remind us that the success of an offensive is measured in decreasing the enemy´s fighting ability, not by kilometres. Ukraine isn´t doing very well but it definitely isn´t doing bad.

  2. Yeah, but they put Wagner and Surovikin out of the picture (they were the most efficient fighters) and destroyed several airplanes, airfields, supply lines etc. It´s not just advances on the ground that can beat the enemy. It´s all very uncertain and unpredictable, we´ll see what happens.

  3. The Surovikin line is in fact many lines. A line of minefields, then a line of dragon´s teeth, then trenches. Then again a line of minefields, a line of dragon´s teeth, a line of trenches. Etc. etc. It´s uncertain how many sets of these three lines there are. It seems like Ukrainians have breached 2 or 3 sets of lines, but there are probably 4 or 5 sets of lines. Hence the confusion.
