  1. Thanks, that's good news. Also, liberal non-populist parties got the best result in history in Slovakia. So, there are some signs of change, they are just very slow. We'll see.

  2. Definitely not. It's not like all Slovaks are anti-European. The anti-EU parties got less than 30% votes, and 68% people voted. And that still leaves out teenagers. A country shouldn't do what only 1/5th of its inhabitants would be OK with.

  3. To all comments saying "Slovakia is not important": a friendly GO SUCK A SHOE!!! from Czechia. Also, from a purely pragmatic pro-Ukrainian point of view: Slovakia is en route from the West to Ukraine, plus it manufactures weapons and has been supplying them to Ukraine.

  4. It's SLOVAKIA for heaven's sake. Slovakia used to be part of Czechoslovakia and has borders with Ukraine, actually part of Ukraine used to be part of Czechoslovakia. Slovenia is the tiny Alpine country by the Adriatic sea that Melania Trump comes from and has borders with Italy and no borders with Ukraine.

  5. Little say in anything, as in a valid member of EU and NATO, strategically positioned in the centre of Europe? It has more people than Finland, Estonia, Slovenia. And a border with Ukraine. I just hope we never find out how much negative power Slovakia can have. Remember how many problems Orban can stir up, and Hungary is not exactly a huge country or a European leader.

  6. Undisputed in the Slovak system, because the second party clearly finished several points behind, and there are many parties in Slovakia. So yes, it's a clear victory. Like the other comment says, it won't be easy to put together a coalition, though.

  7. It's "Slovaks", and many nations have proven that they can rise from the ashes. Like the Irish. So it's not relevant whether they seem to be dying out now. A nation is dead only when it's dead. Your ignorant comments are pretty hurtful to this Czech person with wonderful Slovak friends.

  8. Slovakia doesn't have a pro-Russian government yet. Fico doesn't have as strong a mandate as Orbán in Hungary, not by a long shot.

  9. HOW has it decided to follow the wishes of its people? It hasn't done anything yet. Also, there's no Slovakia versus its people. The people ARE Slovakia when it comes to elections.

  10. But the party that won is not far-right. It's nationalist but not fascist, in fact it's leftist. The far-right party didn't make it to the Parliament.
