@SamDolcine Well paying like 2 grand a month just for the rent is crazy. My daughter is at one of these apartments in Alexandria, Virginia and it was $1700 a monith and then she told me they got a notice of an increase that it's going to 2 grand a month. Her salary is 42K a year and she and her boyfriend will be scraping by I guess. He makes a little more than her though.

@rtee3680 That's like the highest income area in the nation though, so I'm not surprised. And then I hear about the homeless there in SF. Totally nuts.

@NewProvidenceUF If you're a retiree that could be a decent part-time income though. Yeah I'm a retiree I'm going to consider getting my license.

Exactly, that is't worth it to a buyer to pay high commissions, so the system is going to implement changes. Some people buy without that salesperson, and for my low end house that's what I should have done . My saleslady wasn't even at the closing, no excuses. Then had the balls to call and ask for a 5 star review!! I gave it to her because she had a medical issue and because she asked. Otherwise just 3 stars, she only showed me like 2 houses and I went for the second one.

If the hose is 10K less then you would be financing 10K less, right? So it's vague in understanding your point.

@micker9830 So the problem is the buyer's agent can't get his / her commision from the sale added into the house's mortgage, and then paid by the lender or bank? Because the commission is part of the closing costs, the house I bought had a breakdown but now I can't remember that contract. That's what a mortgage is - a loan (contract). Also I had a VA loan. I didn't put anything down except paying the Closing company a check for $1000, and it was called earnest money. I'm a veteran that's why I could use the VA loan. It's one of the best entitlements or benefits we get. But the limit I could borrow was about 200K, because I'm in a pretty low income bracket.

@longkesh1971 So Congress should make a Bill to put what you propose into a law?

Yeah you really don't need a buyers agent, and the industry knows it.

@denniswagner3572 Not true they don't run around like that. I was shown 2 houses in 2021 and I bought the second one. And 1% commission means for a $500,000 house the commission is still 5 grand. Simple mathematics but not your strong point.

@rtee3680 I want to go to Venice if I go to California, and many many years ago my mom was form Pasadena. I'll keep San Franciso in the back of my mind too. Good luck to you.

@reneec.venegas6560 He should have said get a Real Estate attorney, they know everything and more. They're cheaper than a 3 or 4 % commission, I'm sure.
