This was like 8 years ago, wouldn't it be nice to get an update so we can see what the outcome is.
25
@samdotcom9401 His family is nuts treating him badly, because if he gets depression he could harm himself or turn to drinking, or drugs. He seems like a man with good inner strength but without an update on the story we can only guess.

It's because compared to the others they're poor! If the rich parents of Bob's wife didn't cover the rent they'd be in a shelter. Now that would really suck - nobody told his daughter though.
13
You and your brother were brought up right - it's the parents job to tell his / her kids something so they know what's up. In this story did they ask their oldest daughter to look for a job - no. Would this teen ask to go to work - no. So there you have it.
12
To them it's a hardship though; but yours was even harder - You are the American Dream because you got out of it, and sounds like you did it on your own.
7
It's because it's tough being young too; even kids are competitive and cruel. Sad fact in America, so try God / Jesus.

@bleuciel26 It's because of their lifestyle before - he was an executive making $100,000 a year. Unfortunately there are a lot of women that only look at a man as being one when he's financially strong. Children just reflect what's going on around them. One thing missing is not praying to God. I don't think they go to church; if they did that as a family perhaps they could learn a few things. Bob seems very stable he goes without in many ways, I was like him a lot but chose to separate from my family. I still go there weekly to spend time with my son, who is autistic and can't speak. I pray to God and his son Jesus about once a week. I believe that I've succeeded because My daughter is now 20 and my son is about to be 18; and they're okay and so is their Mom.

Yes, many times and for not much, a man will need to sleep in the basement - that is if he's lucky enough to have one.
4
@MattSezer I think he got a promotion to the 6 figure job, and then everything stopped. So whatever they did have saved didn't last very long.
4
Laid-off hell, she never even got hired. A $200,000 degree and can't even get started! This was 8 years ago we really need an update on these stories.

@luvbunny1237 More than 30 years ago when I was 17 I got my drivers license permit, and probably because my father always drove everywhere. I've been driving since then and right now I have two jobs - I couldn't do either one without it because my early job starts at 7am and my other job I do delivery work. I always heard that it's a privilege to drive - No it's a necessity.
2
@mendoraogbogbo36 Actually he does work a low paying job part-time, unless he lost that too.
2
@naturallymeii224 You have a real good attitude; and you're smart so one day things should get better. We all need to thank God sometimes too, for all the things that we do have.
2
@divinefeather1 söder bröder loves government support and lives at his parents house. We'll vote for Trump because he's a great President, a true American; Broder go vote for Biden and whoever his running-mate will be.
2
@SublimeThinker Wouldn't you love to know how this turned out, it was several years ago. Bob is a better man than me I'd have to move out soon; perhaps my luck would change. I'd still help but I couldn't stay in that kind of environment even for my kids. Hell when your kids lose respect for you it's over!!
2
@internationaldirector2917 Yeah because their-laws are paying his rent; a lot of in-laws kinda suck so this is like pouring gas on the fire. I'd bet it's Bob that doesn't want to go there.
2
I think she has some type of cancer, I thin she's getting treatment for it (at least).
2
@theinkbrain Thanks Inkbrain; well it's not to hard for me to understand his hardship because I went through something similar! This video here is 8 years old and that's about when I went through it too! I wish we could get an update on this. By the way I'm not doing too bad now.
2
@luvbunny1237 OMG that's rough. Are you married or something because how can you afford anything? So sorry to hear about this.
1
@luvbunny1237 Then you should get disability; I get some disability pay myself.
1
@heatherframpton9693 Just saying that it's a lot easier to work, and even be employed because you can drive and even buy your own car. Uber, Lyft, restaurant delivery alone employ a lot of people.
1
The fear is that if his wife's parents stop paying the rent they will be outside.
1
@tonitoomer7168 Really, $2000 a week is a lot of money except when you go for the big house you're off to a bad start. I'm just saying if you make 2 grand a week for 2 years that's 200 grand. If you make 2 grand a week for 4 years that's 400 grand. You see Bob got the great job but only just got started in it; he never got to these big figures so he was robbed of being successful. Yes it's true a six-figure job is a lot of money, but over time.
1
Well the story is 8 years old; how the hell can we get an update on this?
1
@babymonikaa.d.8655 I wish we could get an update on the story - it was 8 years ago. I think Bob would have to go on his own - I think I would!! Sure you love your kids but you gotta have their respect. Horrible scenario.....American nightmare.
1
@rrickarr I think even The Donald can't handle this one. He knows to just bide out his time and hopefully the vaccine will be here around December; of course by then he may have already lost the presidency, but Not His Fault!!!!
1
@brianal7143 I think he got promoted to the six-figure income job; and they had to move there for the position. Then he lost the job..... so whatever savings they had lasted only a few months.
1
Just a kid, she's around the damn rich kids all friggin day. Man I feel for all of them, American Nightmare.
1
Yes but they aired the documentary years later (I think).
1
It's tough being a kid or did you forget. Go to a school ALL DAY with a bunch of rich kids when you're not and see how easy it is. I think I'd rather be Bob.
1
Well the wife wants this and that; blah, blah blah.. I don't think you've been married before. Of course it's only about half of the women sorry ladies!
1
@nihilisticbarbie It was because Bob's wife's parents are paying the rent for it. His wife probably just wanted to stay there when he was laid off, and it is easier on the kids so they could stay at he same school. However kids just want to fit in but really they can't.
1
@staceykersting705 Oh damn, we used to say that for joining the Army - 3 hots and a cot or even a bed. So I did 12 years active duty and then 8 reserves; I'm Good.
1
WHATS YOURSOC Hell Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, and Zuckerberg alone can fix that we just take half their money, I mean WTF.
1
@Chu3505 The idea is if businesses thrive they You should at least have a decent job, right? Well someone will be at the top.... Jeff Bezos.
1
MAGA is a good slogan though.
1
Is that the ID chip in the hand?
1
Problem was he got the promotion and had to move there; he wasn't in the position very long when he was laid off therefore there wasn't any savings or not much. He needed time in the position in order to build equity - it's really too bad. Totally sucks but he's somewhat lucky his wife's parents are paying the rent, but they aren't treating him good. If it was me it wouldn't last that long I'd have to go on my own and watch / help them from a distance.
1
Well maybe he really doesn't want to see his in-laws. He knows that as a provider he failed and that's the way the damn in-laws see it; and his friggin wife goes along with it. Where does he get his strength from, I hope he prays.
1
What's wrong is his kids have to pretend at school every day that they're kinda rich but they know they're not. It's a bad scenario all the way around, now their Dad doesn't get proper respect - all Dad's fault.
1
Yes I did too; I got a flat tire and pulled into a strip mall to fix it. I was already out and had an interview but it sucked. I put on my spare and my hands were dirty so I went into a restaurant to wash my hands and I saw a sign; needed a delivery driver. So I went back to my car and got my resume; went back in and gave my resume to the lead waitress she said she'll give it to the manager soon. I got a call that evening and he was impressed enough by my resume and I started two days later and it was a pretty good gig, I'm still there part-time years later.
