  1.  @ReasonX3  Teslas' are heavier than other vehicles because of battery weight and the vehicles skeleton (which is cast or poured). It still doesn't explain why it will hydroplane like that.

  2. You would think that Tesla's being heavier than most other vehicles would help it not to hydroplane, but you're on to something with the strong torque from the motor, and also the regen braking.
