My math exams in CS were basically writing the definitions down word for word. Like "A group is a finite or infinite set of elements together with a binary operation that satisfy closure, associativity, the identity property, and the inverse property." If you miss a word, you get a 0 for that question. Like hell I am not going to cheat.

@Agdem_ I don't put my grades in the resume. Neither did my first or the second employer ask for them. Grades of my collegues do not correlate with their earnings so in retrospective I had no reason for jelousy even if someone with high grades was cheating. I can see that employers do not want to employ without any information about ones competence but showing your projects is a way better form of showing your competence than your grades. I don't acknowledge discussing, going through old exams or using help for assigments as cheating. Without delving into why, it's certainly not what I am talking about. With all that said (I assume you're from USA) you have a different reality than me. If Americans really care that much about grades then it is just sad.

Employers typically don't look at your grades. And I don't suppose cheaters are typically top % of the class. In fact I assume that cheaters don't care about rankings of any kind. They cheat to pass. I understand caring about cheating in competitions but this ain't a competition. Education and the job market are flawed systems. Caring about people trying to get by in these systems is petty and pathetic.
