The pessimism/doom comes from simply extrapolating all the current (and now clearly obvious) mass 'divide, devolve and conquer' devolution-manipulation out further to its logic and sad (while deliberately self-fulfilling) dehumanised and regressed conclusion.  Looking on or for the bright side by comparison involves some self-conveniently closed-eyed cluelessness, a big dose of acceptance apathy and perhaps deliberately NOT looking or extrapolating further with a more-considered critical-thinking mind, especially when the apathy of telling yourself (or being told) something pretty instead is far easier (and then far easier to accept). ....like the phrase "In the future you'll own nothing and be happy" which in its cluelessly honest hubris also unfortunately came about from folks who DO unfortunately KNOW (and have well-planned) what will come next .....and will likely be mass-accepted probability wise. The creepily dehumanised trans/post (as in after) human future has already sadly been pretty much accepted by so many, simply due to effective-manipulation and its subsequent normalisation, some mass apathy and a big part of society already having been successfully demoralised into narcissism and nihilism to now deliberately lack (or not value) the sort of principles which once helped us aspire to be better humans than our simple and base, beastly or machine-like selves. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you!

You won't just choose your robot (and human partner-replacement) type by physicalities .....you'll also pick if it is politically right or left leaning.  The right leaning ones will encourage masculinity (and be built for a good pounding!)  .....and the left leaning ones will constantly shame and gaslight you (while built with an optional extension to more easily peg its cuck/simp owner!)
