China has been split into two VERY DIFFERENT governed regions since he un-ended civil war....the older ROC/Taiwan and the newer PRC/mainland....You're confusing (and accepting) 'China' with/as PRC China despite the ACTUAL reality since the civil war....PRC China is NOT dynastic China, which ended and became the ROC.

I don't know why any of them expected anything different......all they had to do was to speak to anyone who left during or after the unfinished civil war there.

The US One China Policy ACKNOWLEDGES the One China Principle.....a deliberately grey diplomatic agreement (which has kept the peace since the UNFINISHED civil war) between the two entities, the older ROC (Taiwan) and the newer PRC (mainland) to ONE DAY re-unite but where BOTH have very different ideas of what this might entail (understandably so when one is a healthy democracy and the other a control-freak authoritarian/communist cult). Whenever the PRC threaten to invade Taiwan they ironically threaten to break their own agreement while cluelessly self-serving.

It's a combination of MANY power-leveraging (and control-ambitious) vested interests, where deliberately destroying the existing in order to then be able to self-fulfillingly rebuild their new (and self-serving) post (as in after) human reality and (NOT Very Brave) New World Disorder IS the ultimate goal.....where they'll ironically turn on each other once their vested-interest goals are met. Who are they?.....for a start.....The globalist corporations/monopolies, the UN aspiration world gov initiative (inc all of its tentacles), The existing and already ideologically-sold cults (fabians/transhumanists etc) the PRC, the easily-bought (and self-serving) political useful-idiots .....and all the other (and usual) vested interests (royal houses, banking houses etc) who simply have a common interest and desire to monopolise and then over-control ALL and everything including life itself.
