  1. No you're right ....if you want to view it with simplicity despite all of the MANY complex realities, nuances and 'diplomacy-of-convenience' speak. The UN is full of self-interested (and easily bought) folks and is a collective-idea/think-tank of diplomacy rather than a government or administration (just ask Israel) and would happily ethnically/racially group all Chinese people into one self-convenient group despite the PRC never controlling Taiwan and despite the fact that the different Chinese folks on either side have massive ideologically-different political views, ideas and systems after having divided when their civil-war NEVER ended.  The US One China Policy is simply a US diplomatic 'acknowledgment' of the PRC's desire to unite Taiwan/the mainland (and to help keep those cheap goods flowing more easily)...... and The One China Principle means two different things to both sides agreeing to it.....the Taiwanese ROC/KMT folks think that they'll run the entire show when 'united' and the PRC/CPC folks think they'll run the show when 'united', like two folks debating abortion where each side ultimately talks about something else while hoping to negate the other....or a bigger, wider (and less self-convenient) discussion. The Taiwanese understandably pay little attention to the UN, especially when the UN so easily negates them out of self-serving, self-convenience (and some financial incentives) while not even acknowledging/valuing them for what they currently are. The W.H.O declared that PRC China would handle Taiwan's pandemic needs.....knowing that the PRC would do nothing......so Taiwan took care of it themselves and far more successfully than most countries, where they were then able to supply medical goods to other countries when items like N95 masks (and ventilators etc etc) became strangely hard to come by (and when hoarded by others like baby powder/formula). Taiwan is one of the most healthy actual democracies in the world with multiple opposing and tolerated views/parties after having fought for their democracy, unlike so many other countries who have now unfortunately become apathetic to their own while strangely looking towards bigger and less democratic/sovereign entities so as to then sadly NOT have to think further/harder unfortunately.

PRC China isn't yet a war threat but it IS a massive 'influence' threat in the societies more open/free/democratic than themselves, many of which are now overly-apathetic to their own values/history and meaning.....often via their own easily-manipulated and over-sought supposed 'virtue' (and then fear of having or forming a new or challenging opinion), especially when so many folks (and their deliberately simple minds) are so easily manipulated or bought......and when money and the free-market are even bigger tools of manipulation to communism in an un-regulated 'free market' than our own increasingly corpro-controlled states. ...... just look at how many folks are now too scared to define something as simple and objective as a man or a woman..... as realities are being reset during our own and creepy Cultural Revolution-Devolution to less. Now that we've forgotten (through apathy) what once helped us aspire to be better, the 'choice' folks will soon sadly have is one between an over-controlled corpro-communist system OR an over-controlled corpro-fascist system, which is like a choice between diarrhea and constipation, where you'd really only want one when you had (and wanted to get rid of) the other. ........and where folks will just continue to argue between one another over the trivial while the over-controllers on either side of the spectrum simply laugh at an easily-manipulated and less-thinking us from above as they further lessen and dehumanise us.

  3. The deliberate division carries on.....maybe they're ALL arseholes on both sides? The west is becoming its own worst enemy as it self-devolves itself .......and Keating is half way there already ideologically on the other side of the creepy spectrum with his 'friends'. The last time I saw him on the news he was bragging about winning an exemption from a speeding fine and telling everyone that it was a victory for the everyman......He'd been pulled over by the police for both speeding and driving alone in a transit lane, the police decided to use discretion and not issue him a fine for the transit lane offence and just gave him a speeding fine instead.....he still decided to go to court where the judge nulled the fine and took his word as a man of character over the police (and their radar and their discretion of only issuing one fine/offence)....where his shameless ego then felt the need to brag about 'the victory' outside the court to the press and reframe it as a victory for 'the people' (of his stature) at the expense of the police that his cheapness and slimy ego had thrown under the bus (who had also shown the sort of discretion we wish cops would take more often) like a true slimy and manipulative arsehole.
