Most folks don't WANT to know the truth, it will challenge their fragile and already manipulated (and self-manipulated) ego's ...and they might then feel a sense of stupidity and guilt which they can thankfully avoid by simply ignoring the inconvenient reality in front of them like the three (not very wise) monkeys, while they ironically get angrier with the folks who INFORM them of their manipulation than the creeps WHO manipulated them.
