They're just ahead in/of their bigger/long-term plan.....Their primary aim is to change the very meaning of money (and reality) to instead be based on vague and 'flexible' supposed 'virtue' (as defined by self-serving others) and AWAY from money being a simple intermediate to trade goods and products of genuine desire and merit....It's part of the deliberate devolution of the 'free-market' where all the products will end up terrible, like in the old USSR where the products ultimately served the state/ideology first and foremost (and at the expense of all else). Ultimately it will end up a Corporatocracy with communist 'characteristics' (in order to be more easily-sold to the easily-led).
