The term 'correlation does not equal causation'......is unfortunately misunderstood and misappropriated by many nowadays (especially the shameless, self serving and self-conveniently clueless).  The term is NOT an answer but rather a CALL to do MORE research in order to either prove or disprove a theory.  The odd hesitance to DO more research while continually parroting this term is concerning when the folks in a position of power SHOULD know better.  We should have been as skeptical of the other 'research' especially when used to sell a product (alongside the fear-mongering) as we should now also be of this too.

The coercion referred to as 'choice' (by those who might otherwise face accountability) guaranteed that we got a BIG/WIDE market/pool to read from......After the first two/three pokes you also have to consider cognitive functioning in relation to decision making (and paranoia/fear) alongside the endangered/compromised health aspect/excuse you highlighted.
