Modern 'science' will unfortunately and potentially help to convince folks of either anything or everything being possible or not possible the more complex it becomes while also increasingly theoretical based .....and especially so if it becomes a replacement for religion while potentially manipulated (and then grifting) on supposed 'consideration' while far too easily conflating the same consideration (but not self questioning) with wisdom...when/if manipulated and/or self serving.

  2. ​ @davidp6839  I think you misunderstood my post (while distracting elsewhere with the obvious that I already agree with)  .....and perhaps also misunderstood my criticism of the conflation folks often now have with 'consideration' potentially leading to wisdom, which is far more likely when self-questioning is ALSO part of the equation. .....which is unfortunately lost when 'consideration=wisdom' is simply (like a simpleton) conflated without that further (and self) consideration. The debate part of science (which is a part of that 'proving') is unfortunately waning more and more if/as/when science becomes 'captured' (often via vested interests, self-serving ideology and/or 'research') like a creepy form of backwards Lysenkoism. ....especially when 'theories' (alongside those self-serving interests) quickly just become a new ideological/faith-based belief (and replacement religion).  Carl Sagan had discussed the same concerns regarding 'captured' science on several occasions. "But yes, just about anything is possible as far as science goes; everything "known" is limited by our perspective, our abilities and senses." This is heading into contradiction territory after what you said above it.....everything UNKNOWN might be possible (after proven).....our abilities are dependent on our knowledge ....and our perspectives and senses play a much smaller part (especially if led by feelings, which are easily manipulated by others and the self).

  3. Social media and the amplification of every voice (like schizophrenia!) will unfortunately make ANYTHING possible (and then justifiable) in the more easily led/manipulated (or simply overwhelmed) minds.
