Fiona being so knowledgeable is great but she's also ideologically inclined/positioned herself as well while trying to understand Putin's psyche more than his reasoning....... so is both the best AND worst person to be discussing this. Wars ultimately happen when ideological thinking on both sides negates all diplomacy and consideration/mutual-respect of each other ......then leading to the sadly inevitable.

@marius4iasi And he'd probably and justifiably (by his thinking) say exactly the same back....which is a problem of both sides while they disregard one another and attempt to claim their own virtue high AND low ground!

@mariakostiv2836 You're getting sidetracked, both sides are lying, hypocritical and self-serving ego filled knobs...where the Ukrainian people then sadly and unfortunately become their cannon fodder

@mariakostiv2836 I just hope they're safe because the ideologues on both sides will happily treat them like the cannon fodder that all dehumanised conflicts ultimately and sadly result in when folks decide to take their own self righteous (and self serving) path rather than the one that better considers one another.

@mariakostiv2836 'from the Ukrainian side it’s not ideology'......it never is..... but there's still that war where ideo-think trumps consideration of each other's grievances for the sake of side taking.... where by Russia's own invasion ideo-think, they're umm 'retaliating' due to their own un-considered grievances....it's an endless loop of self-righteous self-justifications where innocent civilians caught in the middle will ultimately and sadly pay the biggest price.
