A lot of these 'new' science/thinkers really love their self-serving nihilism while easily driven away from the old god religion/belief/cult and into the selective (and self serving) morality/non-morality cult.....When nothing matters ANYTHING can then be justified...for the sake of the self-serving 'science' (and the self) religion while telling yourself something pretty and overcompensating......as the manipulators always intended.
