They got the hang of it during the (so-called) corona crisis, when they (the perpetrators) themselves were shocked by how accommodating (and complicit) the sheep and the media were during the violations of fundamental rights. That strengthened them in their Orwellian authoritarianism, the consequences of which we are now experiencing. My 2 cents from Belgium.
