This is still only about the dead, but we know that certain medicines also have unwanted side effects in other areas. For example "Thalidomide", which caused serious abnormalities (development of the limbs) in the fetus in the womb in the early 1960s. The worst picture I've ever seen was of a baby that had no limbs at all, just a torso and a head.
