Comments by "" (@WarpedPerception) on "China's Waste Ban Is Causing A Trash Crisis In The U.S. (HBO)" video.
Title of this vid should be "China is no longer buying recycled plastics from the USA"

This video is giving the wrong idea of what is actually happening, U.S. is not sending "trash", China was buying raw materials, now China is trying to recycle more so they don't need as much, US needs to start producing more of their own products, then the will need more raw materials and we can use our own recycled materials. However I have imported containers with raw materials from China in the past, I can tell you from personal experience they actually send trash in those containers, one time I received about 3 tons of contaminated slag powder along with my container of 6 tons of steel tubing. So they essentially sent me the material and the waste, because slag powder is basically garbage.

@piotrpoleski2650 yes but I was speaking generally, and I wouldn't say that the US doesn't want to deal with it, but if they're so used to his system where they're selling it off to China, and then all the sudden China is no longer in the demand chain, then the US has to change and adapt. But for people to say that this is garbage is not accurate.

@SusseBo no it's a mutual benefit, if you are a huge manufacturing plant and you use 50% recycled material in your products at an obvious discount in material cost, and suffer no degradation of the quality of your products, sounds like that benefits you as a manufacturer. I used to build manufacturing equipment, many manufacturers use this to their advantage.
