No offense but I think you're missing the point of what the Tesla is all about, my car is almost 1,000 HP AWD all electric, loaded with technology and an absolute blast to drive. But guess what, I want 120 MPG with a range of 1500 miles at 80 miles per hour and the flexibility to do what I want when I want, especially with $130,000 car. That's what I want, I don't want a Prius, I don't want a toyota, you go by a Toyota, I've had two Priuses already, I want my Tesla. Lol... Actually way too often my message is subliminal, sometimes that's the most powerful way, it worked with you. This engine has already been repaired, and as soon as I hit 1 million subscribers I'm giving away like five engines this is one of them, every machine is the sum of its parts, one of my points on this channel is to support that idea, almost anything can be fixed if it's made out of non-biological materials. But yeah that engine is already restored, and the video has been filmed. Just waiting to hit 1 million so I can give that stuff away. +Kappa123 hey thanks !, I actually thought exactly the same thing with this episode, I literally just sent one of my friends a text about this video saying the exact same thing you just said.
Problem is with this episode I was training a new crew, we didn't get all the coverage that we needed, then I sent the project to a new editor, he butchered the entire thing, to straighten it out and re-edit everything it took me about 16 hours. It was a disaster. I almost didn't post it but I have a schedule to keep and I'm a week behind already. January was supposed to be the month and I start releasing episodes that are much more comprehensive, this was on track to be the first one, however because of the two weeks lost with the editing issues I had to cut it kind of short, I'm genuinely sorry about that, as the host and the writer of these episodes I take that to the heart. But you are absolutely right and that's why we were changing up the format starting this January but then the 💩 hit the fan unexpectedly. Thanks for you feedback !

@jansuszynski3052 ahh yes, That video. Okay well I can tell you that I worked on three segments in that video, the train, the tank versus school buses, and jet car. As for the train in the pit, because of the weather And having a plane to catch, I wasn't there the next day where the train was launched into the pit... I can't comment as to what they did after I left. But I can tell you 100% for certain, the tank versus the school buses was 100% real, and the jet car did in fact go 600', I was very upset about the jet car, I designed and set that car up to actually take flight, that car should have went at least 1,500 ft before we had to land it, But because of the weather, I lost 2 days and I was rushing to get the car launched the day of their shoot, It all came down to a slight adjustment in the elevator linkage, if I would have taken five extra minutes to make that adjustment, the car would have actually flew and not crashed... If you want more details I'm glad to give them to you But that's a summary.

Awesome advice, to be honest I kind of knew that I did it the wrong way, but I didn't think it would be that much of a difference, it makes sense why almost all automobiles do it the way you advise.
You're absolutely right though I don't think I did but I may have even mixed the sensor ground and chassis ground.
Before the next little episode I'm going to do I'm going to straighten out all those groans and do exactly what you said.
As for the aluminum foil for shielding, I thought of this today but I think as you said the grounding configuration is the big issue, now that you mention it I do notice during higher RPMs decu is having trouble filtering the crankshaft signal.
That's probably why, makes perfect sense, thank you for the advice.
As for the O2 sensor, yes I didn't think they were that sensitive, I thought it would last more than a few runs.. I didn't want to run a huge exhaust pipe though because it would have took the fun out of it and made it look ugly.
I did think that the oil was the problem though with the O2 sensor, it's was burning a ton of oil.

I've had an interesting last few years with my beehives, about five years ago all of my bees started dying off as well, and after four years of trying different things, doing a lot of research, and talking to other beekeepers, I believe I finally figured out the problem in my case.
I'll skip through the entire process and get straight to it. I believe I lost my last Hive of bees this last winter, but this time they ran out of food.
The previous year's the populations were just really low, so they couldn't make it through the winter, I tried various pesticides for varroa mites and same thing, however this last fall I tried oxalic acid, a naturally occurring acid in plants, you smoke the hives a couple times in the fall and it decimates the mites.
Problem is that with climate change, AKA global warming, all of the winters are much much warmer, so naturally as it gets warmer the bees consume more food, this last winter I had about 80 pounds of honey in that hive, by December the bees ate up all of that honey, in the previous year is that honey with last all the way into March easy, so I believe between the combination of the increased population and the warmer winter temperatures, they just starved, so I'm hoping that last winter is the last winter I lose my bees, and I think it will be. Apart from that pesticides are also a problem, but not in my area because I'm in the city, we don't use many pesticides in Chicago.

Jared Zadorozny well I don't know, The MythBusters did better than The Slow Mo Guys, and I was supposed to take their spot last year, but I had some health issues, a ton of crippling nerve damage, I just got over it about 2 months ago which is why we are now posting full format episodes YouTube. I'm not really competing with The Slow Mo Guys in my opinion, they do something totally different, I mostly use high-speed as a tool, almost out of necessity. We will see what happens, I'm pretty new to YouTube, slow mo guys started like 8 years ago, I started last year. All that being said I have some absolutely epic subjects on the way this year, the way I wrote this show is to take people into a journey that they've never seen before. Thanks for the support

METO U I would be up for both, I am working on another episode to answer some of those questions, a lot of people talk all kinds of crazy stuff, but I myself and genuinely curious, in the next episode I will be challenging Newton's third law the best I can, I even got a sponsor on board this time so we can build a much better vacuum chamber, I personally and very curious to see if Newton's third law applies in a vacuum, I know a lot of people may say that my next episode coming up is not going to be perfect but I am going to do my damnedest to try and replicate a scenario where the reaction itself is creating thrust, not the environment around it. I am not supporting either side here, I genuinely want to know if Newton's third law is a law?. Penfookio Productions very true, low margin engines are much worse than newer designs. Regardless there are many chemical reactions that occur with all Jets engines and Curious Droid mentioned a couple in this episode. But the way I think is beyond all of what we currently use today. E.G yesterday I was at the beach and I saw a ladybug land on my arm, that lady bug flew off of my arm to about a hundred feet away in the air over the water, she came by Landon near me again after about 3 minutes of flight, then she took flight again for a few more minutes and landed somewhere else beyond my sight. I turned around and told my sister, something is wrong with our current aeronautics, I just witnessed a ladybug get airborne for about 6 minutes, and she still has energy for more, if we did the math and compared her fuel to weight to flight time ratios to a fighter jet or even a helicopter, what would those numbers look like?. How much fuel does she have compared her take off weight, what's the energy density of her fuel and how about efficiency?, in my opinion our current latest developments are primitive compared to even the insects that we live amongst.

Gabe McDonald Welcome!!, I am also an aeronautical engineer, but I'm like 10 yrs out of practice, although I have actively been practicing my mechanical engineering side almost every day of my life, that's what I'm very good at. I wasn't necessarily questioning Newton's laws of physics here, I was merely writing an episode around hundreds of comments that I received from a previous episode that I made on burning a rocket motor in a vacuum, which was a viewer request. but I was personally curious as I haven't ever seen one of these solid rocket boosters ignited in a vacuum before, it was nice to see it behave differently, very interesting for sure. The Newton's second law is a great idea, you are absolutely right about the principle behind that, I'm going to make a note of that and maybe write an episode very soon. I can tell you from first hand experience, the scenario that you gave, in an more extreme case produces a lot of heat very quickly. Thanks !!!

Lol... Thanks for the feedback. I don't want to give myself too much credit but, apparently I'm doing a really good job at what I'm doing. My whole idea when writing these episodes is the kind of act like I don't know what I'm doing, I'm not even joking, feedback like yours really tells me I'm doing a good job, I always thought it wasn't believable but I love it. As a matter of fact yes I do have a lot of tuning experience, I also have a lot of experience with wideband O2 sensors, tuning by AFR and I not only have an engine management system that I'm going to adapt to this engine and others I also have a wideband O2 feedback loop that I'm going to tie into with the engine management system. On the flip side just think about if you watch this video and I started out and said hey I'm going to put a turbo on his engine and get it running great Tama and that's all I show you, I show you the parts show you the build and runs fantastic and then end the video, where would be the entertainment in that? That's my filmmaker point of view, I want to have fun while learning something new. I was thinking the same thing, a friend of mine has a Japanese restaurant, and he has something called the robata grill, they order in charcoal that feels very lightweight, similar to what I had here, only difference is seems like they are made from small branches, that would also be interesting to make, I feel funny that I'm here talking so much about charcoal, I was never this excited about charcoal before, but I think it's kind of cool now that I know you could literally take branches from a tree, even wet and make them into usable charcoal. I might have to try that.

Dang, as a kid I remember seeing those hot plates, I always remember thinking to myself again as a kid " why the heck do they have the hot exhaust running up and then down" now I know why thank you very much for the information. As for the flooding and the spraying, you are correct, and I was originally just going to use a simple fuel injector with a variable trigger square wave, but not everybody knows as much about mechanics as we do. So I split it into two episodes so we can compare just spring and flooding the entire engine versus precise control over fuel, my prediction is that the average person will have a much better understanding of why and how fuel injection in their car works oh, that's the exact reason I made the see-through intake tube, I plan on removing that hose barb and putting a fuel injector in its place, everybody understands visual. Also I plan on keeping this little engine, it is currently in absolute perfect condition, I didn't run it on acetylene on its own, as I stated in the video I started it on the nitromethane, methanol and 30% oil in the mixture, then I added acetylene to that mixture after it was running, it was so well lubricated that in between runs, I rotated the rotor about 5 or 6 times and all of the excess oil cleaned all of the black soot out of the combustion chamber. Come on man have a little bit more faith, I am an engineer even though I act stupid a lot of the time, I usually know what I'm doing. It would be a 2-hour video if I explain every single step, safety measure and redundancy I have implemented.

There is even more wrong with the world we live in, but here I'm going to address your concerns.

First and foremost, this is TV, there's way more than meets the eye, but the subject is true to it's core, just inches off camera, there are blast Shields, fire extinguishers and other safety equipment, I need to keep my crew safe so we can make more videos.
1. My shop has a full make-up air and exhaust system, with an air change rate of 1 minute, that means that the entire volume of air inside the shop gets completely change with outside air every minute.
2. The point of spraying fuel everywhere, was well for entertainment, and also to connect this episode to the upcoming episode where I feature a certain amazing product, that's the idea there.
3. As for overpowering the motor, yeah that's the idea, I'm trying to blow it, but as you know people hook up their cars and overpower their motors all the time, that's why I connecting rods are broken many times, not every car on the street is stock.
4. There's no damper on the dyno for a reason, to make it simpler to understand, and to avoid people saying that the results are doctored, for all you know that damper could have a spring, but I will be on version 2 of this Dino soon for the next series, no need to worry.

This is not my first, I've had an interesting last few years with my beehives, about five years ago all of my bees started dying off, and after four years of trying different things, doing a lot of research, and talking to other beekeepers, I believe I finally figured out the problem in my case.
I'll skip through the entire process and get straight to it. I believe I lost my last Hive of bees this last winter, but this time they ran out of food.
The previous year's the populations were just really low, so they couldn't make it through the winter, I tried various pesticides for varroa mites and same thing, however this last fall I tried oxalic acid, a naturally occurring acid in plants, you smoke the hives a couple times in the fall and it decimates the mites.
Problem is that with climate change, AKA global warming, all of the winters are much much warmer, so naturally as it gets warmer the bees consume more food, this last winter I had about 80 pounds of honey in that hive, by December the bees ate up all of that honey, in the previous year is that honey with last all the way into March easy, so I believe between the combination of the increased population and the warmer winter temperatures, they just starved, so I'm hoping that last winter is the last winter I lose my bees, and I think it will be. Thanks and you are correct bees are very important to our food supply, another very important be that pollinates 40 times more than a honey bee in a very short amount of time is the native bee, I have been collecting footage on those bees for the last three years and I'm just about ready to wrap up that episode, it's not easy because they only come out for a few weeks at a time once a year, but they are very impressive.

To give you more insight after finishing the most recent episode with the Supra on the dyno, I drove from the shop to my studio which is about 40 miles, with the intercooler broken completely open, no back pressure and the Turbo is still perfect. As I mentioned before there are a lot of different combinations, turbo diesel turbo gas turbo nitro, sleeve bearings, ceramic bearings, Big Turbo small Turbo. Well I kind of agree with you and I kind of don't, I've been a filmmaker for a long time, but I'm fairly new to YouTube (about 4-5yrs) and this is my take on that. When I first came to YouTube I used to do videos just like you said. I soon learned that format only works if you're serving the video to an audience who is already familiar with the subject, additionally YouTube is the new TV now, just mobile. so imagine you're in your kitchen cooking something you click on the video because you want to see something in the title or maybe in the program guide, you just leave the phone or tablet there while you're cooking waiting for the part of the video that you really want to see, but there is no narration, so you have to have your eyes on the phone the whole time, additionally the brain needs a break, this is a well-studied subject in filmmaking, yes I was yelling because it was very loud, but back to back to back shots for 7 minutes is boring to most people, again unless they are very familiar with the subject, then you know exactly what you're looking for and what you're looking at so it's not boring. That being said I try to keep a balanced program that satisfies not only people who are very familiar with the subjects but also people who have no idea what the subjects are but still find them interesting. It's not a perfect recipe, but it never is, but I can promise you this I have about four years I'm trial and error and research behind what you're watching, there's always room for improvement but all I need to do is look at that like to dislike ratio and I know if it's a recipe that taste good or not. Sorry for the long response but I want you to know that I do in fact take everybody's opinion including yours into consideration. So I'm not going to lie it's been about 5 years since I worked on tesla's, I'm just getting back into it now, I was working on a few projects with Tesla and I had access to in-depth documents, however It has been so long it's not fresh, but from what I remember in the theory of operation manual, it stated that the regenerative braking worked the exact opposite of acceleration in that the inverter or controller I can't remember which excited of feel in the induction motor the opposite of accelerating which naturally just reversed the whole process, cooling and everything else worked exactly the same under regen conditions, I toss the mechanic posted somewhere here saying it would wear out the components faster, and I can't remember where that power was running back to the batteries if it was through the DC to DC converter, the inverter, the splitter, I can't remember but my only guess is he might be talking about the back side of the gears in the reduction gearbox, for sure they are designed and a way to handle the acceleration forces but maybe not the deceleration forces... But taking into consideration that this is only 65,000 Watts, which is about 15% of the acceleration force, I think the gears will be able to handle it. But I am going to refresh my knowledge of the systems on this car when I have time.

I think this one will actually spool, will see in the next episode, you could be right but I think once the fuel injection system is done and I can tinker with the settings on the PC versus manually that's going to be The Tell-Tale moment. As for the pinging oh, this is nitromethane, I don't even think you can get nitromethane to Ping, and if you watch the high-speed footage you can clearly see that the combustion was occurring at the right moment, you can also see where the spark is in relation to the Piston position. I'll keep messing with it but I'm going to make sure in the next episode is running Tip-Top and making more boost, if it made 3 pounds of boost it can make 10 lbs of boost. One thing I did find out later after we finished filming oh, is that the top mounting hole for the turbo is actually drilled all the way through into the compressor housing, all the boost was leaking out, you can see this in one of the scenes where I'm spraying nitromethane and as I'm spraying it into the intake it's blowing out of the little bolt hole. it's only the top hole but yeah I'm going to have to put a screw in there next time, I'm not even going to run this thing again until I get the cameras setup and I'm ready. Well when I was three my hand was pulled into a Ludlow machine, completely mangled, I had reconstructive surgeries on that hand all the way up to age 5. Then I lost the tip of my ring finger a few years ago, the tip is actually still in my mom's freezer at her house, there was a dog fight between two of my dog's, I went to pull the blanket off of the older dog, and the bam, she bit right through the blanket, didn't even know she got me but she took the whole tip, the bone and nerve were sticking out, I was so pissed. The video was up on YouTube and got like 2 million views in a few days, but I made the video unlisted because many people didn't like it, it was very disturbing and very graphic. @marioncobretti7870 thanks, I actually like that compliment. funny I met Elon like 10 years ago, I wanted to start an electric car company as well however in 2010 when that big bubble burst I closed down 3 of my 4 companies... Lost all of my working capital, then worked my butt off for the following 4 years grinding to pay off almost 3 million in debt, once I got back on my feet, I said to myself, Do I want to go back to grinding and start more companies or an EV company or start some YouTube channels...lbvs. Then another 4 years of building up to bring crazy things to my channel, And the pandemic hit, then 2022 I started working on a bunch of Mr Beast projects All the way up until July of 2023, then in August of 2023 I suffered a brain injury, And now just last week I got back to work filming again... So yeah that's where I'm at, I can't wait to do my actual projects I wanted to do on YouTube. 🙂... That where the fun for me is going to begin, but I waited and worked almost 8 years to get to where I am now... But I'm here.

This will destroy the top speed of a spec shifter Kart. As for slingshotting, you may not be able to do it in a shifter cart, you're limited because of the mechanical connection and those little pesky vibrations transferring to the contact patch of the tires through the drivetrain, But in this Kart just like an electric car the acceleration is so smooth (even smoother than an EV) that you can do a linear entry that approaches the limit of the coefficient of friction of the tires for the entire turn and come out way smoother without any jerkiness if you nail it. I forgot a few pieces in the video and one of them is how much smoother this thing is, the shifter cart vibrates like a junk rattle box all over the place just from the engine running It's insane ( I've always found this laughable... What year are we in?). As for the helmet, yeah it's not easy filming, riding operating the camera putting on the helmet, I get it but it just wasn't scary enough for me, not enough space to be scary, however the jet Kart very scary. Definitely check up on the next go-kart video we'll see how I shifter cart does 🙂. Thanks for the concern it does stick in my head you are correct, accidents come out of nowhere and your mental preparedness and quit thinking is usually what saves you. From now on I'm definitely going to install kill switches on the shifter Karts, I have multiple safeties built in on the jet cart but not the shifter... Good thinking.

I agree and I kind of disagree, you have to keep in mind that I'm running nitromethane not gasoline, that was actually the staple behind putting this size turbo on this engine, I just didn't address that in this episode, but I guess I'll find out once I slam it with the ton of nitromethane..lol. a turbo from the EcoBoost is larger than this one, this is the little baby primary Turbo from the sequential setup on the SL65, it's 27 mm. Originally I was going to go with a legit dyno, but I really didn't think that was that much fun and they are complicated, I wanted to figure out a simple way that anybody can understand. Absolutely have to get kids involved, this is what we're missing today and this is one of the reasons that I bring this stuff to YouTube, it's not like back 20 years ago we're all the kids were tinkering with that stuff, now they're all on their phones, where are all the engineers going to come from?. Absolutely, one of the whole idea is behind me original in creating this show, was to explore subjects that not many people are familiar with, and even more so play with subjects that have unexpected outcomes. But yeah the lubrication would normally be an issue for a long-term run for sure, and for the next episode I'm working on making a slightly pressurized lubrication chamber, but I left it out because I didn't want to clutter things up, this thing's going to make a lot of power you'll see, but one of the main things you want to keep in mind is I'm running nitromethane, if this little thing was running gas I highly doubt it would ever even spool up and once I get the EFI system in place, I'm going to try both gas and nitromethane to show how much less gas do you need, how much more nitro you need, as well as how it's probably only going to spool on nitromethane, a lot of nitromethane.

Haha, no offense taken. Funny story, about eight years ago when I was building a restaurant for my friend, I was operating a bobcat loading trucks with dirt and concrete, once the truck was full I would give the driver the thumbs up, one time I had some gloves on oh, I gave him the thumbs-up with the middle finger, in about 2 seconds the driver got pissed screamed out the window " f*** you back", I then grab the floppy finger with my other hand, wiggle it back and forth, he immediately apologized...lol. I lost it when I was 3 years old, my hand got pulled into a Ludlow machine.

We try to be very transparent about who requests , it's part of our business model, if one day we cannot run the business portion of our YT format proper, then we will openly mention that or leave YT all together . the air bag vid I actually agree, it was boring, I have the shortest attention span known to man but, that was a Quick Clip not an episode, which is why we include that in the intro and title, it was in fact not a viewer request ( editors got lazy ..lol). That was what I call a dirty clip . we have full airbag episodes on the way that we wrapped in Oct 15'. as for the SMG send Gav a message and ask him who he got the airbag from....lol, also ask him and Destin where some of their ideas come from, you may be surprised. what we do on YT is only partially for YT, it's more important serves outside of YouTube for industry, we made history with those airbag shots, they went out to automakers, they were the slowest fully exposed color of an airbag ever taken with the v2512, I personally develop and patent technology used in the film industry which is how we push limits, the airbag SMG shot was 2500fps ours 30-50k fps . but that said, I have no interest in putting down the SMG's , they are one of the main reasons we are here on YT as I will openly discuss in our Livestreams, I have personally given Gav alot of credit on this, no need to argue about this at all. I am very surprised how viewers on YT take sides, I am on everyone's side and I see everyones point. all in all we are building this channel in phases, step 1 is to focus on the slomo until we reach our goal then execute step 2, by April 17' we should be delivering the full story line. thank you for taking the time out to comment here , we appreciate it very much.

Ha ! I totally agree, I've always thought the same thing and I never understood why they are so big in the UK and Europe and not in the states. So your going to like this. From like 1998 - 2000, "OK go" posters were all over my neighborhood, on the main streets, abandoned buildings everywhere. I grew up in Chicago, So Warped Perception is filmed in West Town around Western and Chicago streets in Chicago, which is roughly 800 n western av, "OK Go" originally started their band career at "Empty Bottle" which is located at 1035 n Western av, it's 1.5 blocks away from where WP is filmed ..Lol, literally the next alley over. When they asked me about the One moment vid the first thing I asked was, where you getting the cash, they said Morton salt. I was like " on Elston ??." They were like yeah man were all from Chicago, it's gonna be bad ass but we need help, I was like OK what you need to make it happen. They consider their band a Chicago band. We were even talking about warped perception and some insane ideas that might be a good fit. I'm amazed at how small the world actually is sometimes.

Inspector Steve well I create and develop formats and Technologies for the film industry, mostly big budget movies and hybrid shows, I have produced many videos for The Slow Mo Guys early on. The Slow Mo Guys were supposed to help me promote this channel when I started it, now they took some of my ideas that I wrote film them and I never got any promotion. As for the hydraulic press, I partnered with the hydraulic press Channel Lauri when he first started becoming popular, the distance was an issue, Lauri is a super nice dude , I filmed some clips for him and he couldn't even read them on his computer , because of the file size. he told me " you know what I've never even seen a real slow motion hydraulic press before , I appreciate the offer, you should just post them on your Channel " so I did. I wrote this show for discovery in 2014 comma I had to alter the format for YouTube, I'm still working out some Kinks but the see-through engine is kind of the final format. I'm on Discovery 4 times a month, that's a completely different version. I stopped doing projects for The Slow Mo Guys about six months ago, I think they finally own they're on flex4k now period all the cameras I use our prototypes, a lot of the shoots I do our research and development, the ones that hit YouTube anyway. I've learned that YouTubers are backstabbers big time, so now I'm just having fun, anything goes no-holds Barred.

Well as for the math, it is actually correct. You take whatever torque number you Get and you divide by 2. Let me give you an example, if my lever was 4 ft, and the engine made 10 foot pounds of torque, at the end of that lever you would measure 2.5 pound feet. At 6 in you would measure 20 lb feet, imagine when you have a bolt that's stuck and you can't get loose, what are you do you get a long bar or a pipe to put on the ratchet, because you have more leverage, in this case the engine is producing the torque so the entire thing is reverse. As for the boost box, I think you're going to be very very surprised, everybody is, we will be wrapping up the last episode of the series today after 8 months of building. i know what you mean, I have an E55, I felt the same way when i was tearing it apart, i have a E55, Benz wanted to give me a newer perfectly good car like a year ago but i insisted that i wanted a crusher car, this situation happens alot in chicago lately with uber doing so well. people have a repair bill, ditch the car and stop paying, they try to repo but cant find it, the insurance pays the car off, but once the car is found it cannot be sold for parts or retitled by illinois law. so yeah they just get cubed. thanks and sorry i didn't address that in the intro, it would have saved me a lot of headache.

@theeoddments960 well that's actually the whole reason that I went this far, because everybody thinks it's not going to work, and then surprise, this is kindergarten stuff compared to what I'm used to building, I can do this with my eyes closed, that's where my crazy fuel injector sprayer system came from, I got bored, and then I thought to myself it would be a great visual example for people that don't know how modern fuel injection systems work, it's filmmaking and entertainment, if it didn't look dangerous it wouldn't be entertaining, imagine how boring it would be to say hey guys I'm going to put a turbo and fuel injection on this engine and it's going to run fantastic, I build it tune it run it end of video, super boring. Think adrenaline, danger excitement, could be your last day on Earth, have a f**** blast while learning something and thinking outside the box. That's how I see things.

When I work on movies we do way worse stuff than this, like 10 times worse, explosions all sorts of stuff, and there are required safe distances in the city of Chicago, those distances were met. I know it's hard to grasp when you don't live in a congested City, but that's how things work here, part of the reason some people don't like to live in a big city.
Behind the tree at 5:55 and at both ends of the alley at 8:01. I'm glad everybody did a great job, but not so much, there were about 5 or 6 scenes that I could not use for the final edit because there were people/flaggers in the shots, that's not what I was going for, I was going for the dangerous reckless look, and apparently I succeeded. Thanks for watching I'm very happy to see that the video had the effect I was going for, that's why I do what I do am I'm told I'm one of the best, compliment accepted and greatly appreciated!! imagine how boring this would be if I was in a different location in the middle of nowhere, that's my opinion anyway as a filmmaker.

Thanks for the feedback, I have been turbocharging engines for over 20 years, originally I was going to go with a smaller turbo and a simpler design, but I was really deeply curious to see if I can get the primary baby 27 mm turbocharger from that SL65 to actually spool up and work on this engine, I know they're smaller turbochargers out there that will just work easily, but I remember on my Supra when I had a t88, that thing wouldn't even start spooling up until 3500 RPM, it reach full Boost at like 7200, it was ridiculous. But when it made Power it went absolutely nuts out of nowhere, long story but I changed it out with a 67 mm and the car is so much fun to Drive, so my goal with this turbo series was to show a similar situation. But since this was the first video I had no idea the glass had was going to crack, and I had absolutely no idea what the turbo was going to do, but now I have a little bit more Direction.

There's a story behind that, but I didn't want to make the company look bad but here it goes. So originally when I got this thing started it ran for a few seconds and then turned off, I opened the crankcase and found out there was no bearings, so I cranked it again and again and again and again, then the crankshaft timing gear came loose, I had to fix that, I had to start it up again, it started for a few seconds and then died out again, this time the ignition module got fried, by that time the bearings in the clutch we're completely destroyed. I tried to order the one-way bearings, but they were at least a few days away.. so I had to improvise and I made these bushings and used a screw extractor... I got the video done.

Nitro doesn't work like that, as soon as I stop spraying even a little, that's it, it will stop running, nitro does not behave even remotely similar to gas. I show this in the next episode, with nitromethane you can run air-fuel ratios down to 0.5 to 1, that's twice as much fuel than air, I show in the next episode that when you try to run it like gas it just doesn't run, but when the cylinder is completely flooded, almost hydrolocked, that's when the nitro is running at its best. Nitro has its own oxygen source. The turbo will not spool by itself without spraying, what you're suggesting and what actually happens are two different things. Thanks for the feedback

Good point but different principal. In a jet engine you are using basically compressed air to produce thrust, you can vector that in any direction. A jet engine pulls in air, compresses it, creates combustion and expansion which equals pressure or thrust, kind of like a very large air pump, that's why as you flying into higher altitudes, jet engines cease to function, in a vacuum a jet engine would not function, because you wouldn't have any Oxygen or air to react with the fuel and create hot gas expansion. In a rocket engine, it's pure reaction forces, because you have your own oxygen and fuel present, no compression or air needed, it's purely a chemical reaction versus combustion in a jet engine. yes I did have traffic and pedestrian control in fact as well as permits, pedestrian and traffic control is part of the requirement for pulling a permit for this type of project, and where are they hiding?, well that would be all over, if you look closely these are not all the same clip, the master shots and the inserts are all separate, they are just cut together in editing to make it appear as if it was one continuous video, just like a movie or anything else, you just have to look closely. But I learned my lesson next time I do anything similar I will include like 3-4 min of behind the scenes at the end of the video, would save me alot of trouble. Thanks!

Thank you, however I would have to argue that point, it's absolutely impossible that this thing is going to make more power on gasoline, I can almost put money on it that this turbo would not even spool on gasoline, only a portion of nitromethane is burned inside of the engine, a lot more is burned outside of the engine, and in this case inside the turbo, that's the only reason this thing is making boost pressure. and in the next episode which we already started filming I plugged up the hole in the compressor wheel where all the boost is leaking out, it made 8 horsepower on 4 lb of boost, sorry for the spoiler just figured you might want to know. If I advance the timing to about 50 or 60 degrees, it will make more horsepower from just the actual powerstroke without the turbo, I wouldn't retard the timing any more than 40 degrees. It's just the way it looks, it's TV so sometimes I do too good of a job making it look homie, but there is a full make-up air and exhaust system in my shop, with a 1-minute air change rate, that means that the entire volume of air inside the shop gets replaced with fresh are entirely every minute. I designed it that way in case we ever have to use very strong chemicals or acids, or smoke etc. Multiple reasons for this, but recently I was filming the first episode of this cymatics series, and a fire broke out we had 10 foot flames oh, I turned on my equipment and the place is still standing!!. yeah we didn't have any exposure to carbon monoxide, next time I will make sure to bring that up. I don't think the boost is meaningless, look at the power number, if I took off that turbo on regular pump gas, it would make 3 horsepower, I dyno'd this engine in the previous episode on pump gas without turbo.
You have a good point, but I did design that long plenum intake to create a buffer and a sandwich effect, but I was limited by space constraints, I have to keep the entire project within the frame of a video, 16:9 aspect ratio, but if you make it even longer or do a boost chamber in between it would be even more effective, I may build a boost box in the future.
As for the blower, Unless you have a really big blower with a centrifugal compressor, I highly doubt you're going to make 5 or 10 psi, the leakage around the blower wheel would be way too high.
I would definitely try it in a Future video just to give you a demonstration though.

No Sir Marcus, that's the surprise, this is nitro now gasoline, with nitro you can run air fuel ratio is all the way down to 0.5 to 1, that is twice as much fuel as air, I don't know what's going to happen in the next episode where I show everybody how does engine runs, I mean the whole reason I do these episodes is the show people things they haven't seen before in a way they haven't seen before, and apparently I'm doing a pretty good job, I'm not speaking highly of myself but I always think that it's just not enough, but I've had about a million people disagree with what I'm doing here so yeah, wait till you see the next video, I'm working hard to get that out ASAP. True, I also own an E-class. The reason I'm doing this is as a project, also this car was headed for the crusher, so I gave it a new life as a project car oh, I still haven't finished up all the other episodes, but they are coming soon.
A lot of great things do come from Germany, you are correct, but in my opinion most of the really great quality products come from USA, Germany, and Japan. Problem is if you buy something that's made in the USA its usually more expensive. I can name a handful of products that are made in the USA that are the absolute best, not necessarily cars, but German cars are one of the absolute best cars in my opinion. On brighter settings what looks like overexposure to me is the actual Haze and rain, I did my best on this one but nothing you can do about water droplets in between the subject and the lens, that's really hard to cut through and impossible to eliminate. Fo instance the F-22 was the only time it was halfway decently clear. But yeah I've been a filmmaker for a long time, I'm very aware of what a 1st AC is, it's basically a dying breed, with almost everything being digital now, a first AC is a Tyrannosaurus Rex in 2020. Unfortunately because of guys like me pushing digital, I just love technology too much man, but alot of the 1st AC's now have jobs as dti's. right now on most of my sets my second AC does everything that my first AC did years ago and more.. again digital. In all honesty I love feedback from guys like you that are in the industry, but I do keep it reel..lol. but yeah you can look me up my work is everywhere, I just never really wanted to be in the spotlight like I am now, it's taking some getting used to No doubt. Btw I have worked as a 1st ac on occasion for specialized projects mostly.

Thank you, yes you are correct, this is why they use 70 weight oil in top fuel nitro cars, also in between races what they currently do is drain the oil, throw it into a cooker, and boil out all of the nitro contaminants, then they call the oil back down and they reuse it for another run or two. that all happens behind the scenes but yeah, I just like to keep these episodes kind of open to allow people to share their opinions, then I'll follow up in the next episode with the solution, kind of creates a sort of educational environment if you will, one of my goals is always to get younger people involved in learning how to build stuff, and this is one of the ways that I do it. Although I don't always know everything about everything so sometimes it's genuine and I'm learning as I go, but I usually have in-depth knowledge for the most part before I tackle a subject.

No, we're currently filming that, I'm extremely sore from three days of trying to start that little sucker, the engine is starting to show signs of wear, I have compression leaks, from the head, giving a real hard time to start.
I'm currently hooking up the EFI system, but literally the first two scenes took us four days, ridiculous, I was so upset with that one, it put me so behind schedule. Thanks for asking, that one should be up next if all goes well in the next couple days. I also have some smaller in between episodes that are going to be really cool as well.

I've had 22 major surgeries, almost lost my life many times, I absolutely think about that every single time I get in or ride any vehicle. That's why and these type of situations I stay the laser focus pay very close attention to what's going on and bs safe as possible without proper protection, kind of just like making babies... But I sure was not driving back to get my helmet, or taking an extra day to make this video putting me further behind schedule when I'm filming everything by myself, if I ended up in the hospital again so be it, it either was meant to be or wasn't meant to be, what I do do differently is try to remember next time to bring the helmet that I accidentally left behind. I've had many accidents, 99.9% of the time it's because I'm not paying 100% attention to the road. I used to have a modified 1100 Suzuki, a guy blew a stop sign one time, I was paying full 100% attention to the road and guess what, I was able to stop barely in time and I was doing 60 mph. My point is if you are paying 100% attention you can actually recover quickly, but one exception being a mechanical failure.

Thank you, but not so, my heart is definitely not in it, I want this thing to blow already so I can move on to my other series and seasons. Once episode 7 comes a lot of people are going to be very surprised. we started filming a couple days ago, these videos are made for everybody, not just mechanics, they need to be entertaining. Nothing is going to happen to the turbo in that short amount of time though, it's not getting hot enough to discolor the metal. the biggest problem here is 99% of the people commenting have zero experience with nitromethane, why do you think top fuel dragsters don't have cooling systems. Because they don't need them, the amount of nitromethane being burned cools the engine at the same time. I'm glad you liked it, I didn't think you were rude, but I think you should watch episode 1 through 5 so you can get up to speed on what's going on with this engine. Not to spoil it for you but with the same setup I made almost 5 lb of boost and 8.5 horsepower in episode 7, I actually know what I'm doing, but I act dumb for the camera, but the reason I used that spray bottle system is so when episode 7 comes out people will have a clear understanding of why we use modern fuel injection systems versus old carbureted systems. About the same, the lump charcoal lasted slightly longer, I would say 5%, but that's about it, I think this is why the Japanese restaurants use a similar type of charcoal in the robata grills, it was much more even heat. And it was a more crisp flavor, it tastes like mesquite, but like a sharp mesquite, kind of weird oh, I forgot to include that clip in the video though where I talked about the taste oh, I think I got left out because we figure who is really going to make this type of charcoal and then cook with it.

Some of those we abandoned cars but here is the story on the others, it's not parking at all, that's a street and there is no parking on that entire street according to the city, we also had the street blocked, no parking signs on the whole street and security guard, so that's triple no parking and people still snuck in there, left their cars and ran out. we spent 2 hours hunting everybody down, some of the people said they didn't care, we almost included that as part of the episode, it's unbelievable what people will do to park for free in Chicago. Also if you're going to take your car on the street like that the park you obviously don't care, I didn't even want to drive down that Street in my truck.

So here's the issue with this type of sliding dyno whether on ball bearings or linear bearings, with jet engines especially spinning at that RPM there are centrifugal forces at play, as you could imagine if you spin a bicycle wheel you can hold it by only one side of the spindle because of the gyroscopic forces. The jet engine is no different just magnified many more times, so in short there are more forces than just forward thrust, I've tested this with lean your bearings, slide bearings, sleeve bearings and just everything else and it behaves the same, but you never see that motion on all of the dino scales I have seen simply because they don't move all they have is a set of bearings and a scale hooked up to it, there's a lot of math involved but once you start moving forward with thrust and centrifugal lateral forces, you have a lot of weird things going on, and my testing the only exception to this were pressurized air bearings, these are bearings that ride on a cushion of air literally.
I was going to use those bearings for this test or even some very high quality leaner bearings that would reduce this effect however my goal here was to make something to measure the thrust that made the power visual as well as keep the cost very low so I can replicate this for a couple of my RC friends. I have been thinking about doing a completely separate video on the dyno and why I designed it this way which I may still do, and one thing I forgot to include in the video was my reasoning behind designing a dyno this way, I genuinely forgot to put it in the video. I have made some improvements to my bearings since I filmed this video to reduce the effect even further.. but yeah from my testing that is what I found. Hope that helps

Well I appreciate that, however I have taken note, in the future episodes I'm not going to act so dumb, I think I'm a decent actor... Apparently. For 1, the engine was in fact loaded here, 2. I'm thinking you have never worked with nitromethane, it is actually not running as rich as you think, with nitromethane you can run air fuel ratio is all the way down to 0.5 to 1, that's more fuel than air, but after shooting this episode I've come to the realization that not many people know about nitromethane, it is a completely different animal from gasoline, gasoline at stoichiometrically is 14.7 to 1, even 50/50 nitro methanol is stoichiometry at 5 to 1. once you start getting into the power air fuel ratio is you're talking about 3 to 1, now think about that for a second, think about how much fuel that is, a lot. But like I said I'm not going to ask so dumb in the upcoming videos, I'll make it a little bit more realistic and give more information, I just honestly assumed that everybody was kind of going to figure it out, but again if you've never worked with nitromethane you're probably not going to know some of these things. As for inspiration, I was inspired by the food Network commercials I did about 3 or 4 years ago, but that was this particular overhead rig, the first time I ever did slow motion orbital stuff was on a movie, or it may have been one of the early game of thrones or hunger games, I can't remember I just remember the scene. It was a girl sitting in the middle of like an enchanted forest and there was a whirlwind of spirits coming coming together, everything was flying around her in a circular motion, it was really cool to see, but that was a, under the subject rig, I've been building Blockbuster movie equipment for about 12 to 15 years. As for the turbo, I should be done with the new episode this week and it's going to be extremely interesting, you would normally be right it's too much turbo, and you are still kind of right, but it will make boost and power on Nitro, but not gas for sure, the turbo is too big.

Some of those we abandoned cars but here is the story on the others, it's not parking at all, that's a street and there is no parking on that entire street according to the city, we also had the street blocked, no parking signs on the whole street and security guard, so that's triple no parking and people still snuck in there, left their cars and ran out. we spent 2 hours hunting everybody down, some of the people said they didn't care, we almost included that as part of the episode, it's unbelievable what people will do to park for free in Chicago. Also if you're going to take your car on the street like that the park you obviously don't care, I didn't even want to drive down that Street in my truck.

Well you are correct on the math, and everything else you said makes sense, the only thing you're not taking into consideration is, here I am running nitromethane, nitromethane is a completely different animal than gasoline, I promise you this thing will make boost, if you noticed the second turbo that I mounted was rhb31 oh, it's the smallest turbo that I know of, but still too big for that engine. Just to give you a small comparison between nitro and gasoline, the stoichiometric air fuel ratio for gasoline is 14.7 to 1 and power is 11 to 1, however air-fuel ratios of nitromethane can be all the way down to 0.5 to 1, that's twice as much fuel as air by volume.

Oh boy... That actually would have been great if something like that happened because we would have caught it on camera. What did you want me to do film this in the middle of the Sahara desert? I mean I appreciate your concern at all but either I do the video or I don't do the video. These were vacant buildings, I had my film permits, I blocked the street, redirected traffic, had flaggers, I have insurance, I took all of the precautions. I was a racecar driver for a very long time which is why I walk with a limp, if I pull to the right or the left or only one tire was breaking, or no brakes, I am pretty positive I would have been just fine at 80 miles per hour. I'm starting to understand why my viewers want me to be more organic, I really don't think my capability shines through on some of these videos. Now if I was doing 220 miles per hour, that's a completely different story, but 80 miles per hour for me is very controllable. And just to clear things up, the brakes actually failed on the very first run over the asphalt speed bumps, I didn't want to waste time and go back to my shop to fix the brakes so we continued filming until we finished all of the takes, and then I decided to go back and fix it afterwards. Newer cars have limiting valves for almost every single brake circuit, if a brake line breaks the car still uses any other available wheels to stop, my Chevy vans also have this feature, I one time told a trailer 450 miles with only front brakes because my rear brake line broke in the middle of the Trip. Sorry for the long response but I just wanted to make sure you're not too worried about that.

Well I think I'm going to surprise a lot of people with the next episode, you're partially correct in a perfect world, and for one it's not so easy to regulate the fuel exactly, but nitromethane will burn very very rich, and I can tell you from the newest episode which is already filming that's some of what you said isn't quite accurate, or at least the time plot is a bit off, see it only takes a couple seconds for the engine to warm up under full throttle, once that happens then we increase the amount of fuel, load, exhaust energy, and in turn more boost pressure which equals more horsepower, which equals more stress on the engine. But at the end of the day it's burning a whole lot of nitro... And it's burning it pretty wet.

Ok ", we almost included that as part of the episode, it's unbelievable what people will do to park for free in Chicago. Also if you're going to take your car on the street like that to park you obviously don't care, I didn't even want to drive down that Street in my truck.

I'm going to address your reply in detail because that's how I do it because your opinion is important to me.
1. I actually know exactly how turbos, carburetors and engines work very well, so much so that I really don't even think when building them as it comes so naturally, I have also worked on engine designs and am currently working on some ultra high efficiency engine projects that I will have episodes on this year. 2. I like guessing on camera as it makes it so much more entertaining, it's boring if I just say " I'm going to put a turbo on this little engine", then the next scene is starting the engine and it runs perfectly, I also take the "dumb dumb" approach, that way even people who don't know much about how engines work, fuel injection, or cars in general can understand why those EMS ( engine management systems) are so necessary in modern cars and what they do, and why tuning maps are necessary, when I compare just spraying nitromethane into the turbo versus actual fuep control, everybody understands. 3. I don't really want to modify this engine much, it was supposed to be only three episodes I had no idea this engine was going to last this long, I have more things to build right after this one. The pulsations are coming from the rotor being warped, I'm just trying to get through this episode and I'll be on to dyno version 2 which is a revised version of the dino in this video. As for the boost gauge, you are correct, but I wanted to show the fluctuation, because once it starts making some serious pressure the fluctuations going to disappear, I did leave a damper out of the line so I can see with the high-speed camera if the individual pulses from the engine are creating micro boost spikes, that shouldn't really happen since the turbine has enough Mass to dampen those pulses, especially once it gets into operating RPM range. I did however make one mistake here, and that was one of the intake flange mount bolt holes, actually goes all the way into the compressor housing, so when I was spraying the nitro into the turbo it was coming right back out of that hole oh, I didn't realize that until it was too late and we were at the end of the shoot. Honestly the issue that I had in this episode was coverage, the camera person wasn't good, I should have shown everybody inside that turbo after I took the exhaust manifold off,, but I missed a lot of points here in this video because I wear a lot of hats when we film the stuff.
I agree about spraying the nitromethane all over the place, but it happened for two reasons, one was just for pure entertainment and to put people on edge Tama but I found out later it was coming out of the intake flange hole in the front of the turbo that actually goes all the way through into the compressor housing, if you look closely when I'm spraying a nitromethane in it's coming back out and spraying everywhere.
Yes I am going to set up ignition control, the whole thing, I'm then going to move that entire set up to a different engine oh, that was supposed to happen a few months ago but I had no idea this engine was this tough.
Yeah I'm going to look into that pulsation tomorrow, I have a feeling it's because the boost is leaking, normally a pulsates a little but not that much, thanks for all the feedback!, This actually helps me figure out how in-depth I need to go in future episodes as I am the writer. Thanks again

Ha! Thanks for the critique, however you can never ever make everybody happy, there's always going to be a few audiophiles with strong opinions. However this is a very old video, I do it differently now oh, even better than what you're suggesting.. no offense. See the problem with what you're saying is, you're talkin about sample rate, but what you hear is the actual frequency, so imagine the rocket is making a frequency of around 1000 Hertz, slow this down by 150 times, what are you left with?. 6.6 hz, can our ears hear that frequency? No they cannot. Even if we shot at a lower frame rate like a thousand frames per second, that would still be about 50 times slower than real time which would give us an audible frequency of about 18 Hertz, not detectable by the human ear either. and then it gets even more complicated than that when you start varying frequencies, because you would move into the audible and non-audible range and it would basically sound like a radio with a bad connection. Much worse than even the cheapest sound effects in my opinion. But I would love to know what you think

If it had a small leak in the epoxy seal it could have started pressurizing internally to a certain point then it could have had a catastrophic failure of the rear retainer and been crushed like a sewer pipe from back to front. Carbon fiber is not a plastic pipe, it has much different characteristics, and since it hasn't been tested ever, everything we think or proposed is merely speculation. Until we see the debris from the hull we don't know what happened. I would love to recreate this entire thing on my channel, but the problem I'm running into is nobody really knows what processes were used in the manufacturing, I'm assuming the hole was made from continuous carbon fiber ribbon, not cross woven ribbon, and did they layer resin on every layer? If so how thick, what type, how thick was the titanium cock ring retainer? Alot of unknowns.

Lol... Nah I still have some years to go to reach my late 40's, it advanced aging due to a severe bone infection I had about 8 years ago caused by a previous surgery, I almost died from that and I couldn't walk for about 2 years, I was taking 20 g of vancomycin intravenously every day for a year and a half, it really messed my body up, damaged my skin, my nails.. everything, but I'm glad to be alive and I'm glad to have my leg, even if I do look 10 years older than I am. I'm still working towards a full recovery. My leg and bone infection was 7 major surgeries, then about 10 other major surgeries for other things. As for my accent I'm from Chicago and I grew up in a bad neighborhood. but for my future videos I'll make sure I dress up in a suit and talk extremely proper and rigid, I'm sure that would make for a very entertaining video!.

I always love constructive criticism, but that's kind of one of my styles as I have edited countless documentaries.. I thought of going a different direction, more of a traditional smooth nature documentary style. Only reason I didn't go in that direction was because I didn't have enough footage but the shots were still cool enough to show everybody, I mostly use this style for the much shorter videos because it simply makes it memorable. But I often use those type of sounds for transitions when there's an Abrupt cut. I have edited hundreds or even thousands of different styles over the years and Sometimes that, paired with the amount of time I have in the schedule determines the style I go with, it's never an easy decision when you don't have a lot of time. Definitely can never please everybody for sure, I still think it would have felt way too short and would have felt way too to amateur without some of those sound cues, i.e. If it didn't have any of those sounds you may have turned it off..lol, Those abrupt cuts without sound don't blend very well in my experience. I definitely appreciate the feedback, but those were my reasons. Again it's time vs footage vs schedule, and another thing is if you go with a smoother style and you settle the audience in, then the videos only 4 minutes long, that's a cliffhanger, if you keep pounding away at the sounds and it's a short video then it usually works.
