  1.  @mosquitobight  That's just an appeal to consensus fallacy. Those people are not here, so making claims about what they thought or believed is fallacious. It also doesn't prove the earth is a sphere. Is that your best evidence?

  3.  @mosquitobight  Polaris is not visible everywhere because of perspective. As you move away from objects they start to drop in the sky and also get smaller. You can only see so much of the sky from your position on the plane. The further out you go on the plane away from Polaris, it will eventually dip below the apparent horizon (not earth curve). The horizon is the line where the sky APPEARS to meet the ground.

  4.  @mosquitobight  Try looking at street lights down a street. They are all the same height but the closer ones to you appear bigger and the apparent position of the lights at the top start to drop the farther away the lights are from you. Imagine Polaris being like the top of the street lights. When directly under the light it's above you. As you move away from it the lights apparent position drops. If you keep going away it will eventually not be visible anymore.

  5.  @mosquitobight  Lastly, the southern Crux constellation is seen in continents farther out on the plane and sailors can use it because if facing it they know they are going away from Polaris. It doesn't prove a southern pole. If you take equator and hemispheres out your language you will understand that this is all happening on a level plane. I have looked at all of these arguments thoroughly as I also believed in the globe once and had similar questions. Just look into it unbiasedly and you will find the truth. It may require praying that God opens your eyes. Because I do believe that there is a strong delusion over people that are clinging to the globe. I pray you start believing in God and not these deceivers pushing pseudoscience.

  6.  J Calhoun  I'm not sure how your story about watching launches relates to earth not having a geometric horizon. But if you are acknowledging that the horizon distance is a product of optics (magnification or refraction) and not geometric, then you are in essence saying the horizon we see is not physical. Do you see the problem? Your model/religion says objects are being blocked by a physical curve. That curve can't magically move behind objects that it should be obstructing. That curve is based on the Geometry of a sphere with a radius of 3959 miles. That's what your religion/model declared the horizon is. So it must be there and cannot be farther than geometrically possible. Now us flat Earthers know that the horizon is apparent because it's the line where the sky APPEARS to meet the ground. We're not walking around believing that the horizon is the leading edge of the sphere. Lol. We realize boats aren't going over Earth curve when it goes over the horizon. Globies have all been conceding that there is no geometric horizon and that the horizon we see is caused by optics and refraction. So boats have no actual curve that they are going over. Buildings are not being obstructed by the curvature of the earth. Lol. You have no physical edge based on the claimed radius of 3959 miles. It's over. RIP globe. Stop and think for just a second. If the video you showed was the earth curving, why would everything be perpendicular beyond the line. Those buildings and objects would be also curving away and not standing perpendicular.   21.  @Alan-nq5xg  Yes earth has gas pressure differentials but that's only possible with a container. Introduce gas to a vacuum and watch how rapidly it disperses. Boyle's Law states an inverse relationship between gas pressure and volume where if you increase the volume the gas pressure decreases. Imagine what happens if you increase the volume to an ever expanding vacuum? Earth would have no gas pressure. The second law also states that entropy always increases and the gas would fill the available volume. Your model fails to match reality. We don't have a sky vacuum. Lol.

If the earth is a sphere with a radius of 3959 miles (p), then the distance to the horizon cannot be farther than 1.225 times the square root of the observer height (q).
