  2. The thing that amused me like hell, is that the Japanese ask each other in which " alphabet " they write their name and address in another script. I'm a manga fan, and it was curious when Dective Conan asks that question? I don't judge, but it's too difficult for me. But hey, remember this : they can use our system quite easily, prononciation apart, but we can't. Unless you feel that you need more than 5yrs to vaguely master it ? It's true that it makes for beautiful decorations. But since you don't speak the language, and you can't understand it, sorry I remain with my alphabet. We should continue this discussion.

  3. There's a good book, no longer published, by George Mikes who said the same thing. Title : The land of the raising Yen. It's hilarious ! Yes the calligraphy is beautiful but...I couldn't learn it. I like these posting, and the author is great. Hope his head-ache goes away.
