McLeod and Best sold their patent for one dollar, in the hopes of making it affordable to all humanity. But today, in Canada, insulin costs much more than it did in the 1930’s. But in the United States insulin has been made so expensive it is unaffordable, and patients die.

T2 is all lifestyle; mostly dietary and physical activity, a personal choice, whereas T1 is hereditary, generally speaking. Cut out all carbs; animal foods only, plus water and sea salt. If you know of a better approach to optimal health in diabetics by all means broadcast it to the world.

Did a longer lifespan beginning in the 20th century really come about due to the advent of drugs, or was it due to a combination of things, like widespread use of indoor plumbing, the adoption of personal hygiene practices like hand washing with soap, the widespread implementation of clean drinking water, fresh produce and related adoption of sanitary practices within the food production industry? Mortality from viruses like measles had dropped to statistically zero a few years BEFORE the widespread distribution of a measles vaccine, according to the CDC.

Apologies. I wasn’t clear. I was referring to the skyrocketing cost of insulin in the United States, quite unlike every other western democracy where prices for insulin are reasonable, and where diabetics don’t have to make hard decisions between insulin and eating.
