  1. I’m glad measles is making a comeback. Parents need to start sending their kids to measles parties so they can get the virus and become immune to it for life, naturally. And scientists keep telling us that a natural immunity to the virus is far, far superior to an immunity garnered through a vaccine, when it comes to relatively healthy populations like those found in the West, like North America, Japan and Europe. However, it is important to note that in developing countries and countries with many acute and endemic diseases the vaccine can be a life saver. Alternately, vitamin A drops are given to younger populations where a vaccine program isn’t practical or feasible, according to the World Health Organization. The mortality rate from measles in the USA and in Canada, since the mid-60’s is exactly 0, according to Health Canada and to the CDC statistics websites.
