@voyager8049 Russia of course controlled all Soviet satellites. Moreover, only for last 20 years Russia made over 1000 launches, but there are information about that in video.

Dissolve of USSR had nothing with Cold War. Gorbachev and Yeltsin fought for power. Gorbachev planned to remove Yeltsin from power at all, so to remove Gorbachev and preserve power, Yeltsin decide to dissolve USSR and did it. So, Yeltsin preserved own power over Russia, while Gorbachev became president of nothing :-/ Typical situation for large countries, at any moment with easy it can happens in India and China (moreover, both in past existed as bunch of independent kingdoms), USA (de jure it is union of independent countries, exactly like USSR was), few other countries.

@antonyspeiice1987 American military expenditure is so large because in USA whole military industry is... private business! It is business where people made money! It is reason why everything so expensive. Compare American prices and Russian internal prices for own armies. In Russia military industry is not business, so everything is cheap, in 10-20-30 times cheaper (where Russia spend just ten millions, USA literally spend billions and often even had worst result). It is why USA each year spend on army as Russia in 20 years, but have no any superiority. Country anyway can be erased in hours and have no protection against that.
