  2. I propose to troll them and remind, that F-22 designed as answer to Su-27 and that’s why F-22 mimic flat nozzles which had experimental Su-27 in early 1980s :D

  3. F-22 was developed as answer to Su-27 and failed in that mission. Yep, in some aspects it is better than Su-27, but is it better than Su-57? :/ Of course no. And let’s not forget one small thing, when back in 1980s this maneuvers like on video was declared as obligatory for future 5th gen. So F-22 is not a member of 5th gen. In some aspects just better than Su-27, but in general behind of Su-35 and incomparable with Su-57.

  4. @briancrawford69 It is full of fuel, do you think holding vertical position in skies like rocket and not moving is cheap thing? It burning fuel in incomparable amounts more than during regular flight. Also you can see all the same videos with weapons from military test sites. No difference.

Su-57 in serial production from 2020, first contract almost furnished already (it until 2027), army signed second. 1) Russia produce largest amount of heavy fighters in world. Somewhere from 2015 more than US. 2) Two years ago army doubled order and production was doubled immediately. Usage of prototype — it is 4th prototype, even it so good, that no needs for company to buy final model (yep, company need to buy it on factory before). What the point? 3) It is first in world 5th gen actually. It is irrelevant what US call as own 5th gen, from 1980s exist list of obligatory requirements (including published in US literature) where as example exist this maneuvers, so F-22 is not 5th gen. Actually it even failed in some aspects to Su-27 against which was designed (e.g. combat range). F-35 as jet with 1 engine a-priory can’t be 5th gen; by that reason Moscow already at Soviet times rejected from 1 engine jets, they outdated and left back in 20 century (Su-75 with one engine — it is developed by order of some 3rd country, Russian army said that have no plans to order it, will think only if it will be good as drone). 4) US again playing in PR. There are no even list of accepted requirements to 6th gen. As example Russia in 2015 demonstrated engine which can work both in air and space, over same works China — because by one branch of discussion 6th gen must to be able fly in nearest space. Is new US jet can fly in space and air at same time?) 6th gen must be pilotless. US already said it is not. Even Su-57 can be used in pilotless mode without operator on ground, full autonomy. 6th gen must to have small hypersonic A2A. US still even have no any large, it means they will not get small for at least next 15 years. 6h gen instead of classic frame must to use special design which remind structure of bones. In US there are still no CAD systems which can develop such structures. Russia and China still is writing this software, were demonstrations. 5) Russia likes artillery?) Some strange stereotypes back from Cold War? Russia likes missiles, that’s why it have so lot of them, of all kinds and always invent new. From first supersonic to first hypersonic, everywhere. While artillery not even in top-10 priorities. 7) You need to listen EU, they promise before 2030 to smash Russia. Yep, again, like 20 century, in 19 century, in 18 century and so on from time of Crusaders which they also sent agains Moscow :) So, who knows what we see, very likely some F vs Su, at least at first minutes, before someone will be turned into glass desert ;)

  6. @andrew3084 Yep, nothing special, just better in everything, from engines to full robotization (I bet you didn't knew that pilot is optional on it) and having hypersonic missiles :D

  7. @drewcarll5431 1) Russia only this year proposed Su-57E, before it never sold it. 2) When country want to buy any weapon in Russia, it faced with sanctions from US and partly rest West. So country need to have really heavy balls to buy Russian tech. In world with honest competition, nobody would bought F-35, even US itself (their own army rejected to it) 3) It is not Russia who denied other medias, it is US/West. Freedom of press, lol :D

  8. Actually no. In that case it would be no reasons for such good aviation. Proof: 1990s. After dissolve of USSR, US stopped development of F-22, Russia canceled own projects Su-47 and MiG 1.44 (reborn as J-20 later, because MiG team went to China) while both already had flight prototypes and were ready for serial production. There are more examples.

  9. @tetispinkman9135 One of requirement to project of Su-57 was easy maintenance, as result (one of reason) arrived conception of fully modular construction, so you can replace even engines right in field in tens minutes without any complicated equipment, only with regular which have army everywhere. Or another example — engines got plasma ignition system, so there are no needs anymore to fill jet each time with oxygen (minus one refill machine, minus dangerous liquid oxygen balloons, less systems to check, less workers). In Russia it maintenance cost is compared with project of MiG 1.42 (abandoned in 2000s Soviet project of 5th gen, nowadays known as J-20 in China; of course it is not directly same project, just to understand what it is). So, Su-57 in two times cheaper than it. If compare with F-35, then it is cheaper in several times.

  10. Because in Russia military industrial complex in state property, so it is cheap, from state point of view it is almost free. While in US it is private business of oligarchs who made money on regular taxpayers, so everything is super expensive. As more expensive — the better.

  13. @knowledgeishalfthebattle There are no MiG-41 yet, only mentions that something in development and old presentation of unknown engine which can work both in air and space (still is unclear is it for MiG-41, is it for future 6th gen or just experiment without plans of practical usage in nearest future).
