Russia. From this year Russia is building first commercial reactor (after decades of experimental reactors: first in 1973, second in 1980, third in 2015 and only now technology is done) of so-called closed cycle, it is when used fuel from classical uranium reactors is used already as fuel for another kind of reactors (so-called fast) and so on. Actually this solved another real problem — lack of uranium, because so-called waste (in really there are no waste, it is energy which majority countries just can’t recycle or use) is not a problem at all (even plastic bottles for water or cola is more real problem). Regard to this technology now is enough of energy for next ~2000 years. More than enough of time to invented fusion reactors and reject from all rest dirty/dangerous technologies (coal, oil, solar panels, wind farms). Also became clear why Russia so actively accepted ‘nuclear waste’ from other countries, because now it is just fuel for new Russian plants.

Russia. Russia invented reactors which use this waste as fuel. But they alone have this new technology (and only building first commercial reactor of such kind, before it was decades of experimental reactors). By estimations somewhere after 2030s similar technology will arrive in France. Finland did nothing, you miss nothing.

Russians: give it to us, our new reactors on fast neutrons use this ‘waste’ as fuel. Regards to it now we have free energy for next ~2000 years.
