@adityapuar3848 1. Of course GDP per capita increased in two times — they lost half of own population! Just imagine how incredible will be GDP per capita when in country left only one last citizen 😂 Also, just to note, GDP per capita show literally nothing about level of life in country.
2. They joined to EU already when had process of deindustrialization. Before break up from USSR they were in dozens times richer, had much better infrastructure (nowadays it is ruined — reason for endless funny/sad memes in most Soviet republics), one of the most advanced and developed economics. They produced almost everything, from electronics to cars, from food to ships. They had more energy than need, it cost nothing (nowadays locals forced take loans during winter to paid for own apartments, so expensive energy/heat now).
While UA in 1991 represent 3rd most developed country in whole world after USA/Russia. They had literally each industry: aviation, space, chips, cars, build any ship including aircraft carriers, engines and turbines, food, anything… in 1991 they had more technologies than most of modern EU countries nowadays, as example Germany, Italy, Spain. And they lost literally all of this 😂
