It will be violation of patents(yep, DNA is patented) and signed agreements. Even in US court you will lost this case. If someone want such foxes, he with easy can start own experiment. Just wait for 70 years and here you are with own lines of foxes. Russia actually made not one, but two lines: one is kind (so-called domesticated), while second one is incredible aggressive with no fear at all (even one fox attack huge bear and defeat it; they are far faster, stronger, with large teeth).

No. Russia said this foxes can pollute natural wild line of foxes and transform all of them into domestic version. That’s why even institute is placed on isolated island to prevent foxes ran away. In general scientists just investigate which and how genes evolute from generation to generation, that’s main goal. Also, there are two lines of foxes actually: one is cute and kind, while other is aggressive and have no fear (second line attack even bear and far more dangerous than pack of wolves). Scientists investigate both genes, of good and evil lines.

@JamesSmith-ix5jd This projects still each year give a lot of information and inventions to biologists and scientists who investigate DNA. That’s why experiment still is continued. Same with deepest hole, it was pure scientific experiment to confirm several theories about how Earth is organized. All that theories was not confirmed. To develop new technologies, to investigate Earth: temperatures, gases, minerals and so on. That hole gave hundreds of inventions. If you want to see really pointless projects, that it is man on Moon. Super expensive project which gave literally nothing. At same time Soviets just sent robot and it brought back same probes from Moon. It was in hundreds times cheaper. While preserved resources Soviets spent to land on Venus (everything what we still know about planet regards to that probes) and to invent Space Stations where people can live by years.

@alvegutt42 On humans it is not works. Just yesterday I listen lecture of scientist about it. Firstly, it need a lot of generations, for human something near ~1000 years to get first results. Secondly, it have no point because our advantage is random. While eugenics is limit choose, it means 1000 years later you will get some people with nice abilities which will be already pointless and non actual. And finally he told that US tried it already when sterilized people until end of XX century, pure evil with awful results.

Actually Russia have second line of foxes — aggressive line. They are incredible dangerous, attack everything, have no fear at all and attack even bear, moreover continue to do it even when he fight back. This line is less public, but there are several videos of them. Pure devil foxes :)
