Let’s remember: — You are lived bad, Dark Ages. — Then you invented colonies and became rich (industrialization itself can’t help, when you have no resources and markets — you got). — Then you lost most of them and everything again became bad (also results of WW2, Europe got significant loses). — Then USSR gave to you own cheap resources and you rebuilt Europe. Not regards to some “plan of Marshall”, but regards to infinity flow of cheap soviet ores, gas, oil, etc. — Now you lost access to Russian resources. — Moreover, you are losing access to African too (Russia just signed military alliance with 26 countries in Africa, each 2nd and it is only beginning). You put self in situation when you have no anymore cheap resources/energy. Also you lost one of the largest market in one day (and without cheap resources you got expesnive goods and it means you are slowly losing all rest markets). That’s why everything declining. While Russia — it just reroute own flows to Asia (funny, but Asia even pay more than Europe, Russia got record income) and replaces some of your goods (e.g. car industry) with Chineses. Also,it launch local production to replace your companies, it give boost to economy. From Russian point of view nothing happened: economy growing (in 2021 Russia was 6th in world, in 2023 — became 5th in world and 1st in Europe, in 2024 became 4th in world), income increasing, infrastructure improving, jobs are everywhere.
