  2. Actually Yakutia is region which exist on donations from rest Russian regions. It means it consume more than give. So no, this gold/diamonds give much less than cost. It is one of the most unprofitable territory in Russia (in top 3). Based on your questions I’m not sure you can understand motivation of people. Look, all your questions is around money. In Russia of course exist greedy people which also thinks in categories of money, but not majority. Don’t forget, Russians founded first in history communistic state and dissolve of USSR happened not because people wanted (nobody wanted), but because to power came greedy bunch of freaks (by poll of 2017 over 75% of Russians want back communism, 10% not cares, only 15% against; after over 30 years of capitalism amount of businessmen in country just 2%, for comparison before of red revolution in Russia was just 1,5% of businessmen, perfect example what Russians thinks about money/wealth, it is not in list of life priorities). So, as example of motivation I can call romanticism. Do you know such world? :) It is cool to live there, each day overcome difficulties, do something, it is beautiful places with honest and strong personalities. You can find in a lot of Russian books/movies typical example: when young boy decide to became a man (real man, you know), he left everything and moves to north. Popular phrase in Russia: “hardships build character”. What means poorest? You know, in different countries it means very different things. As example in USA poor can’t get education or forced to live in dangerous part of city with high level of criminality. In Russia poor with easy can get education, you not need to go for that to special school, there are no any tricks. You know, for example in France you can go to university for free, but if you was from poor family, it means you studied in ordinary school and your knowledge is not enough for university, so you fail to pass even first session. Typical trick of rich how to hide segregation in country. In Russia as former communistic country there are no anything of this, after literally any school you will be prepared for almost any university (which are free). Also there are no segregation in city on safe or danger areas, there are no ghettos. In western countries people in most cases have no own apartments and forced to pay for home a lot of money. In Russia almost everyone have apartments in own property and payments for home is low (there are no huge bills for heat, during winters in Russia people at home walk in underwear and open windows for fresh air, compare with England where people wear warm clothes at home and each winter died 20-40 thousands people because can’t pay for heat). So, it is just very different lives which impossibly to compare, different troubles and motivations. Poor status in some countries it is about own home/future of own kids, poor status in Russia it is about possibility to buy iPhone or travel in Spain for summer vacation. So, if somewhere poor is motivated to move and earn more, in Russia it is more rare case, you always can live without new iPhone and tour to Spain, while your kids can became anyone without you. So, why not to live in Yakutia, your poor/rich status is irrelevant.
